Mutoko Growth Point And Mutemwa Mountain By Drone
In this video we get to drone doodle over Mutoko growth point located in the eastern part of Zimbabwe. Mutoko is a vibrant and fast growing growth point. It is also popularly known for its religious backbone from the Mutemwa mountain. Actually one of the rocky mountains in the drone video is the Mutemwa mountain.
About Mutemwa mountain
Rising above 1500 metres from broad-based stoney boulders on the outskirts of Mutemwa Leprosy Centre, Mutemwa Mountain in Mutoko remains a sacred place of worship for Christians, with a rich history of mysterious happenings and miracles.
For many years, it has been host to thousands of people who are drawn to the mountain to pray, to revive their waning spiritual lives and seek redemption. Some come at their wits’ end, discouraged by life’s downside and looking for a place of rest and comfort. Many “battles” have been fought in the belly of the sprawling mountain, which overlooks Mutoko. Most members of the Catholic Church converge for a pilgrimage every year, in the first week of September. During my high school years since I was at a Catholic school, we actually visited this mountain. That was in 2005 when I was about to write my Ordinary Level exams.
From a distance, it is just like any mountain that one would come across in Zimbabwe, but the locals hold it in thrall. There is rich history that surrounds the place. Mysterious happenings, supernatural experiences and even miracles are said to have happened here.
Ep11|S1| A hidden gem to visit in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe| An Eye For The Wild| Zimbabwe Vlog| Zim Vlog|
All you need to know about An Eye for the Wild Rehab & Sanctuary (which is another Zimbabwe travel destination in Kwekwe, Midlands) is shared in this vlog by a Zimbabwean Travel Youtuber.
As you will see in the video, I was shattered when I received the message while standing by their gate that actually they do not open on Thursdays... Oh I was so broken because this could have been said way earlier in our several communications. However, one of the owners was extremely kind and apologetic that I ended up making what would later become one of the best decisions on this 4 provinces expedition we had embarked on. Seeing all the animals in the sanctuary, it was an amazing & inspiring learning experience. This family is hands on, literally sacrificing their own comfort & so many other things for wildlife's wellbeing & for us to learn more about the beauty our country has. They are doing a commendable job you just have to visit... :) Enjoy the video. Cost breakdown and all the other info you may need to know is shared in the video.

Campsite Review: Chipinda Pools Camp, Gonarezhou National Park (Camping in Zimbabwe)
Overlanding and Camping in Zimbabwe
We kick off our Gonarezhou adventure by staying at one of their developed campsites close to reception, Chipinda Pools. A really great campsite, right on the Runde River, allowing for fishing; with beautiful shady sites and great views of the wildlife enjoying time in the river, or wandering right through camp. This site is unfenced, and Gonarezhou is a Big Five park. There is also no electricity, but hot water is available via solar geyser. Definitely an advised stop when starting on your Gonarezhou exploration, especially if coming via BeitBridge, and the A4 from Chiredzi.

Masuma Dam - close encounter with an elephant
We drive overland to Masuma Dam in #Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, where we set up the trailer tent and Andy makes me a coffee. The next morning we head out for an early drive looking for animals and have a close and slightly scary encounter with an African #elephant. We film some African wildlife in 8K on the Red V-Raptor, but although the scenery is beautiful, there's not a lot going on in the area at the moment.
In this series we are filming in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe with Imvelo Safari Lodges. From there we travel North, up though the park to Victoria Falls and we camp for a few nights next to the Zambezi River in the Zambezi National Park. Then we move across to Botswana and stay at Pangolin Chobe hotel for a night before camping for a few nights in Chobe National Park at Ihaha campsite. Then we take the long and scenic route home across the Caprivi strip and down through Namibia.
We don't make much money from these videos. So if you like what we do, please consider supporting us on Patreon:

Filmed and edited by Robert Hofmeyr and Andrew Caldwell.
Special thanks to Imvelo Safari Lodges ( and Pangolin Photo Safaris ( for their assistance and support on this collaboration.
Behind-the-scenes shot on a GoPro Hero 10. For the telephoto wildlife shots we used a Canon 200-400mm f4 lens on a Red V-Raptor camera. Moving shots were done using a Red Komodo 6K with a Sigma 18-35 f1.8 or Canon 14mm f2.8. Aerials filmed using a Mavic Air 2s.
