Long distance train ride anyone? I love long distance train 🚂 train ride. Dar Es Salaam to Mbeya takes 23 hours and sometimes more. The train was comfortable. Each sleeper has 4-berth so If you want to be alone pay for the 4-berth..that’s what I did.

Each berth was set up with blankets and pillows but I didn’t use them 🙃 I used my own.
The train has a bar and restaurant, meals are affordable - price ranges from 6,000 tzs to 8,000 tzs.
Tanzania and Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) trains run between Kapiri Mposhi, Mbeya, and Dar Es Salaam. The line is 1,860 km long built with Chinese funding and workforce.

I didn't have a fixed schedule on how my first 90 days in Tanzania would go. How much time would spend where. I don't believe there is perfect route to travel I merely follow my feelings to the direction it pulls me to.

Left Lake Tanganyika and want to travel North in Tanzania as far as I can get. Let's see. First a motorbike from Kiranda to Namanyere to find a bus that goes North to Mpanda. Google Maps said 50 min, reality was almost 2 hours because we had some hiccups! 😉 #travel #tanzania

Central Tanzania is a large plateau, with plains and arable land. The eastern shore is hot and humid, with the Zanzibar Archipelago just offshore.
Kalambo Falls in the southwestern region of Rukwa is the second highest uninterrupted waterfall in Africa, and is located near the southeastern shore of Lake Tanganyika on the border with Zambia.
