Our visit to Molsheim in the Alsace Region of France
A look at the beautiful Alsace town of Molsheim. A great stopover on the Alsatian Wine Route, and as a base to explore the region. We're only here for the night as we head off on our Lakes & Lederhosen tour, but what can we discover in a few hours.
We know it's where Ettore Bugatti set up his car works in 1909, when the region was part of Germany. So when we find a museum to the man and his machines - well, you have to. We also get to explore the La Chartreuse, or Charterhouse, before retiring back at the old town centre and the 16th century La Metzig.
A short video but we'd love to know what you think. Have you explored the Alsace region of France?

Best Places in Alsace
Alsace is located in the east of France, right on the German border between the Vosges mountains and the Upper Rhine. With an area of approx. 8280 km², it is the smallest region in France. The administrative center is Strasbourg. Over the course of history, this region has changed its political classification several times. The official language is French, but many inhabitants still understand and speak German. Besides Strasbourg, well-known towns and municipalities include Colmar, Riquewihr, Haguenau and Ribeauville. Alsace stands for beautiful half-timbered houses, wine-growing villages, vineyards, rich art treasures - especially in Strasbourg and Colmar - and not least for culinary delicacies such as tarte flambée and Gugelhupf. And not forgetting the dry white wines, such as Edelzwicker. #alsace #france #bestplaces

Places to see in ( Strasbourg - France ) Parc de l'Orangerie
Places to see in ( Strasbourg - France ) Parc de l'Orangerie
The Orangery Park is a public park in the city of Strasbourg . It is located opposite the Palais de l'Europe and close to other European institutions in the so- called Orangery district , in the Neustadt . Its area is 26 hectares. It is bounded on the west by Avenue de l'Europe, on the south by the boulevards of President-Edwards and Orangery, on the east by François-Xavier-Richter street and is bordered by the Canal de the Marne-Rhine to the north.
Some sources claim that the Orangery Park was planted in 1801 according to plans drawn by André Le Nôtre. Others say that it is not the gardener Le Nôtre but the engineer captain Antoine du Chaffat (Huguenot) who drew, in 1735 , the plan entitled: Plan of Strasbourg, its Citadel and the Fort of Kehl with all its Works who have been built during Peace.
During the French Revolution , the city of Strasbourg inherits one hundred and forty orange trees confiscated by the Republicans at the castle of Bouxwiller and built in 1804 the current pavilion Joséphine (named after Josephine de Beauharnais , Empress of the French, wife of Napoleon Bonaparte from 1796 to 1809 ) by Valentin Boudhors to shelter them.
The Orangery Park was greatly enlarged during the German period , on the occasion of the 1895 industrial and craft exhibition in Strasbourg . It is at this time that the artificial lake and its waterfall are dug. The park is integrated in the Neustadt .
Today there are only three orange trees, kept in the greenhouses of the park that are open to the public on certain dates. The Orangery is a favorite stroll place for the inhabitants of Strasbourg: a zoo , a mini-farm and a stork reintroduction center, a bowling alley , a children's car circuit called The School of Driving , several areas playgrounds, sports fields and petanque . It is also possible to rent a boat to navigate the lake.
Many fountains, statues and other kiosks decorate the park's alleys. Several glaciers also hold a stand. The Buerehiesel is an old half-timbered house, built around 1600, which was originally in Molsheim . It was dismantled and transported for the Exhibition of Industry and Crafts of Alsace-Lorraine of 1895 ; today it is a starred restaurant
( Strasbourg - France ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Strasbourg . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Strasbourg - France

Hunspach - Favorite France Village in Alsace 2020 |
@NingOnestar #NingOnestar#Hunspach#France #VisitAlsace
Hunspach
At the eastern end of the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park, Hunspach is a typical village in the Outer Forest, a natural region made up of low hills and long cultivated land. Agriculture is, in a way, the founding activity of the village. Almost bloodless at the end of the Thirty Years' War, Hunspach owes her salvation to a few French refugees and Swiss immigrants who are given land for a very small sum. With local resources - clay and wood from the nearby Haguenau forest - they build houses similar to those in their country of origin. Even today, Hunspach and its inhabitants live off the land and maintain their typical habitat. The village consists of many farms whose buildings are organized around a courtyard open to the street and directly overlooking the orchards and surrounding fields (unlike other regions of Alsace where the courtyard is surrounded by a high wall). At the foot of the pink sandstone bell tower of the temple, the half-timbered houses from the 18th and 19th centuries with their so-called “broken nose” roofs offer a beautiful harmony. In fine weather, the village is adorned with the colors of the geraniums which bloom in the beds and on many window sills.
Between traditions and history In Hunspach, tradition, here synonymous with joie de vivre and conviviality, is also expressed through music, costumes and dance. The folklore festival, organized on the last weekend of spring, is an unmissable event in the village in which the local folklore group participates of course, but also other groups from Alsace and elsewhere. In August, an evening on the same theme follows. In December, the Christmas Market of Yesteryear also honors the local terroir and two traditional characters: Hàns Tràpp (a sort of whipper father) and the Christkindel (baby Jesus).

Colmar France | Clomar Vlog | Alsace Wine Route |Travel with Pinkpebble
Colmar is one place I did not want to just ‘check off the bucket list’ .
This was one of my leisure vacations, where I just walked around randomly in the beautiful streets of Colmar, relish mouthwatering food from the local restaurants, go for numerous wine tastings, carry home wine from the local Wineries, and just soak in the beauty and charm of this beautiful beautiful region.
Icing on the cake was this beautiful Airbnb stay which was right in middle of old Colmar and hence this amazing view from my window. Cobblestone streets, fairy-tale walkways, flower-lined canals, sidewalk cafes, and ancient half-timbered houses give you the feeling as though you are walking in a Disney movie.
This is definitely one of the most romantic places I have ever been to 💕💕💕

Strasbourg, the Capital City of Europe
Hello and welcome!
In January, I spent a few days in Strasbourg which is considered one of the capital cities of Europe. It gets this name from the fact that it hosts the European Parliament. Strasbourg is a gorgeous city in the Alsace region of France, which has historically had lots of influence from both Germany and France. You can especially see that in the architecture of the Old Town. Since my trip was in early January, some of the Christmas decoration was still up which looked incredibly pretty at night.

Bergheim - The Most Beautiful and Unique Villages of France - a Place of Impressive Architecture
Charming medieval city, Bergheim, due to its location on the border of upper and lower Alsace, had a rich and tumultuous history. Its origins are lost in the mists of time, because, already during prehistory, the territory of Bergheim had attracted man as the excavations carried out at Grasberg were to confirm.
After the Neolithic, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, the Gallo-Roman civilization settled there. Many discoveries, mainly made in the last century, in particular that of the famous mosaic in 1848 preserved in the Unterlinden museum in Colmar, confirm the importance of the Gallo-Roman establishment of Bergheim.
In 2006, a second Gallo-Roman mosaic was discovered in the same place as well as a heating chamber (Praefurnium) associated with a room on hypocaust (floor heating). The two mosaics dating from the 3rd century AD belonged to a vast and sumptuous villa of 7,800 m2 with outbuildings.
After the barbarian invasions, which put an end to the domination of Rome, we find Bergheim cited for the first time after the year 700.
From this time, Bergheim changed fief and lord many times. Originally part of the Duchy of Alsace, the village passed by donation from one of the descendants of the dukes into the possessions of the Abbey of Moyenmoutier in Lorraine and, then, by exchange into that of the bishopric of Toul and, finally to the course of the 13th century, as a stronghold of the Dukes of Lorraine, in the house of Ribeaupierre. It was as property of the Ribeaupierres that Bergheim was set on fire in 1287 by the troops of General Hartmann de Baldeck, during the war of succession of the Ribeaupierres.
It was to avoid the return of such misfortunes that Henri de Ribeaupierre fortified the city in 1312.
Shortly after, after being erected to the rank of city, Bergheim passed into the hands of the Archdukes of Austria who endowed the city with considerable rights and privileges in recognition of important testimonies of loyalty on the part of the inhabitants, such as when those -they bought out their city, ceded by the three brothers: Frederick, King of the Romans, Leopold 1 and Henry 1 with the castle of Reichenberg and the Val de Villé to the bishops of Strasbourg for the sum of 3000 silver marks, however, reserving the right of redemption.
Bergheim, to tell the truth, was not a free city in the exact sense of the word, but the numerous privileges granted to it were analogous to those of free cities. Among these various privileges were among others; the right of currency, the right of jurisdiction of its magistrates and the famous right of asylum.
Although existing in other cities of Alsace, the right of asylum did not take as much extent as in Bergheim. Between the years 1530 and 1664, 752 individuals responsible for homicides, wounds or insolvent debtors presented themselves at the gates of the city to seek asylum. Of these 752 requests, 744 were accepted favorably and it seems that for the previous periods for which the registers are lacking, the assistance was not less. To be admitted, however, the offense had to be excusable and without premeditation. In 1534, an inhabitant of Rodern who had obtained asylum had an allegorical monument erected near the Upper Gate as a form of recognition. This emblem, which represented a character who, by his ungraceful gestures, made fun of the impotence of his pursuers, mysteriously disappeared in 1852.
As another important privilege, Bergheim obtained in the 15th century the right to dig a ditch (Landgraben) between upper and lower Alsace, to fortify the approaches and to levy a toll. The vicissitudes of history did not spare the locality which was besieged on several occasions, thus, in 1374, the battler Duke of Lorraine Jean 1st laid siege to the city. He met unexpected resistance there and despite his strong forces, he had to withdraw without having been able to invest the city.
During the Peasants' War, Bergheim, who on May 8, 1525 had
