small town, USA // Moline, KS // Population 345
Moline, Kansas, is an interesting small town to visit. The oldest swinging bridge in Kansas (1904) is located in Moline and is a cool attraction to see! As I walked down main street, I saw a combination of old and historical buildings and newer ones. And then there's random things located around town like a US Air Force plane. I had fun exploring Moline!

Moline, Illinois(Quad Cities) - Driving Tour 4K
Moline (/moʊˈliːn/ moh-LEEN) is a city located in Rock Island County, Illinois, United States. With a population of 42,985 in 2020, it is the largest city in Rock Island County. Moline is one of the Quad Cities, along with neighboring East Moline and Rock Island in Illinois and the cities of Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa. The Quad Cities have an estimated population of 381,342. The city is the ninth-most populated city in Illinois outside the Chicago Metropolitan Area. The corporate headquarters of Deere & Company is located in Moline, as was Montgomery Elevator, which was founded and headquartered in Moline until 1997, when it was acquired by Kone Elevator, which has its U.S. Division headquartered in Moline. Quad City International Airport, Black Hawk College, and the Quad Cities campus of Western Illinois University-Quad Cities are located in Moline. Moline is a retail hub for the Illinois Quad Cities, as South Park Mall and numerous big-box shopping plazas are located in the city.
In the mid-1990s, the city undertook major efforts to revitalize its central business district, which had declined after suburban growth and retail changes after the 1950s and 1960s. Today, Moline's downtown again serves as one of the civic and recreational hubs of the Quad Cities; many events take place at the 12,000-seat TaxSlayer Center (formerly known as The MARK of the Quad Cities and iWireless Center) and at John Deere Commons. Downtown Moline features hotels such as Radisson, The Element Moline, The Axis Hotel, and Stoney Creek Inn, along with commercial areas such as Bass Street Landing and the historic 5th Avenue.
Moline acquired its name after it was platted (surveyed and planned) in 1843. The name derives from the French moulin meaning mill town.

Mississippi River Adventures | Visit Quad Cities
Let’s start by acknowledging that this is one big, bad river. The Mississippi River is the 4th longest river in the world and the 2nd longest river in North America. Did you know our section of the river actually-flows East to West in the Quad Cities? Just one of the many fun facts about the Quad Cities.
The river is 2,341 miles of power and beauty and it is vital to our existence. It is a barge highway, water well, and recreational space. The upper Mississippi generates over $250 billion in commerce each year and the entire length of the river generates over $400 billion. Barges and their tows move approximately 175 million tons of freight each year on the Mississippi through a system of 29 locks and dams. It also supports more than 750,000 manufacturing, agriculture and tourism jobs in 60 counties directly adjacent to the waterway.
The QC made its home on the banks of the river for manufacturing, commerce, and transportation. It is a true economic development engine. Agricultural products and huge agribusiness industries reign along the Mississippi River basin and produce 92% of the nation’s agricultural exports, 78% of the world's exports in feed, grains, and soybeans, and most of the livestock and hogs produced nationally.
Our river is an important recreational resource for our boaters, canoeists, hunters, anglers, and birdwatchers. And, it offers many outdoor opportunities, whether on the water or admiring its strength from our riverfront biking and walking trails, our bluffs and parks, and our riverfront festivals and events.
We invite you to get out and explore our world-renowned Mississippi River.
