Nevada (Spanish for blanketed; see elocutions) is a state in the Western, Mountain West, and Southwestern districts of the United States of America. Nevada is the seventh most broad, the 34th most crowded, and the ninth slightest thickly populated of the 50 United States. Almost seventy five percent of Nevada's kin live in Clark County, which contains the Las Vegas–Paradise metropolitan area[6] where three of the state's four biggest fused urban communities are located.[7] Nevada's capital is Carson City. Nevada is authoritatively known as the Silver State as a result of the significance of silver to its history and economy. It is otherwise called the Fight Born State, since it accomplished statehood amid the Civil War (the words Fight Born likewise show up on the state hail); as the Wise brush State, for the local plant of a similar name; and as the Wise hen State.[8] Nevada fringes Oregon toward the northwest, Idaho toward the upper east, California toward the west, Arizona toward the southeast and Utah toward the east. VALLEY OF FIRE, NEVADA | Ultimate Travel Guide to the Valley of Fire State Park
The Valley of Fire State Park is located in the south of Nevada, about 50 miles or 80 kilometers to the east of Las Vegas. It’s the oldest and largest state park in Nevada and is known for its bright red sandstone formations that appear to be on fire during sunset. Filled with beautiful panoramic vistas, short hiking trails, petroglyphs, and scenic drives, the Valley of Fire makes for a perfect day trip from Las Vegas. In this ultimate travel guide we’ll highlight the things you need to know before you go as well as the best viewpoints and hikes in the park.
🤔 Things to know before you visit the Valley of Fire State Park
!!! NOTE: the Fire Wave Trail is closed during the hottest months. Check information on the website:
1. The Valley of Fire cannot be reached by public transportation and you’ll need a car to visit the park. It’s best to rent a car in Las Vegas or book a day tour from there.
☑️
2. It costs 10$ per vehicle per day or 15$ for vehicles that are not from Nevada to enter the Valley of Fire State Park.
3. The opening hours are from sunrise to sunset. Those are the best times to visit as well as it’s a lot quieter. The best seasons to visit are probably spring and fall when it’s pleasantly warm.
4. There are two main roads that wind through the park:
The Valley of Fire Highway runs west to east and this is where the two entrances are located. Mouse’s Tank Road runs from the Visitor Center to the north into the heart of the park. This is the most scenic part of the park.
5. You need at least a few hours to visit the park and see the viewpoints. To have the best experience, we recommend exploring a full day. There’s enough to see if you want to spend two days as well.
6. If you plan to spend two days here, there are two campsites near the west entrance of the park. The fee is $20.00 per vehicle, per night or $25.00 for non-Nevada Vehicles. It’s an additional $10.00 for sites with utility hookups.
7. There are no restaurants or stores in the park so make sure to pack your food. The park has barbecues at certain parking lots that you can use if you bring your own coals.

Valley of Fire State Park / Moapa Valley / Overton / Nevada ~ NV
World-renowned for its 40,000 acres of bright red Aztec sandstone outcrops nestled in gray and tan limestone, Valley of Fire State Park contains ancient, petrified trees and petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 years. Here is one of my favorite geologists explaining the whole process, he's located just south of The Valley of Fire in this video, and it answered many of my questions about the geology of the area. it truly is fascinating.

I visited this astonishingly beautiful valley in Nevada #valleyoffirestatepark #nevada #shorts
Valley of Fire State Park is an astonishingly beautiful place in Moapa valley, Nevada. It's one of the best outdoor places to visit near Las Vegas. The landscapes are gorgeous with with red and pink zebra printed rock formations.
Valley of Fire State Park – Moapa Valley, NV
We took some time out of our off-roading adventures in Nevada to explore the Valley of Fire State Park. It is Nevada’s oldest and largest state park and has so much to explore!
We saw all kinds of wildlife, including bighorn sheep, but unfortunately no tortoise. It was cold out and they were all sleeping it off. But the terrain is the big draw to this park.
Take some time to wander through the visitor’s center to learn all about what created the incredible rock formations. Then, explore the trails and see the colorful sandstone up close. You won’t be disappointed. We tried to capture some of the beauty in this video, but really, I could sit for hours just watching a single view and how it changes with the light. Sunset puts on a show in the park no matter where you are. This is definitely a must-see for anyone interested in wildlife or landscape photography.
We hope you enjoyed the video,
Corey and Lorilei

I made this trip in late January 2017. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).

The Lost City That Was Found... And The Small Town There Today
Moapa Valley (Overton, Glensdale, Logandale, and Moapa) is a town literally built upon the foundations of a prehistoric Native American community. However, today it is just a small town in the middle of the wide open desert, about an hour northeast of Las Vegas. This town has enough commerce to make it a decent livable area, and is quite green, being in a valley. It is home to the Clark County Fair & Rodeo, the Lost City Museum, and more!
