Aleosan UK Peak , UK means Upper Katalicanan. The peak mountain of Aleosan is located at Upper Katalicanan, Aleosan, North Cotabato, Philippines.
Over 8 kilometers from the highway, the motorcycle ride to UK Peak may take around 10-15 minutes. Good thing the road leading to the place is now paved. There is also a longer and more challenging trail going to The Peak, which mountain bikers frequently pass through.
UK Peak, alternatively called The Peak, is located in the remote Barangays of Upper Mingading and Katalicanan (thus the UK name) in Aleosan. The place boasts a scenic 360 view of neighboring towns around North Cotabato.
The Peak has its charms with tourists and locals alike. You can do family picnics, kite-flying, barkada get-togethers and people-watching while gazing at the gorgeous setting sun.
Good to know Aleosan had this new discovery of a tourist destination. Not only will this put the relatively low-profile town on the tourist map, this will also increase the popularity of North Cotabato not as a place of war, but as a tourist-friendly place.
Gorgeous sunsets seen from the Sunset Peak give the firts highest peak in Aleosan its name and fame. With silvergrass, rustic stone huts and expansive viewscapes, the magic hour here is revered by tourist and photographers alike.

The Adventure that is Asik-Asik Falls (Getting There and Best Time to Visit)
Last March, just over a week before they implemented the Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine, I found myself in Davao City, and decided to do something that was most unusual: I decided to visit Asik-Asik Falls in Alamada, North Cotabato. Getting there was an absolute adventure. It was a 5-hour van ride, a 40-minute tricycle ride, and an hour's ride on a motorbike. By the time I got off the van, it was already dark, and I was in unfamiliar territory -- I had only previously visited Midsayap for a short while and knew nothing about the area. But I was resolute in my goal to see Asik-Asik, and although I confess that I was scared doing it (particularly when it got very dark and my habal-habal driver would not slow down), I do not regret it at all. Going to Sitio Dulao even at night was a good decision because I arrived at my quarry alone (I'm selfish that way). Asik-Asik Falls is majestic and amazing. It is definitely in the top 3 of my must-see waterfalls in the Philippines. I would not mind going back to see it again, should I ever find myself in the area (but preferably Cotabato City).
This is officially my last trip and adventure before practically the whole Philippines was placed in lockdown, and I don't think there will be any new trips in the foreseeable future, unless a cure is found for COVID-19.
