Algeria
Country in North Africa
Algeria is a North African country with a Mediterranean coastline and a Saharan desert interior. Many empires have left legacies here, such as the ancient Roman ruins in seaside Tipaza. In the capital, Algiers, Ottoman landmarks like circa-1612 Ketchaoua Mosque line the hillside Casbah quarter, with its narrow alleys and stairways. The city’s Neo-Byzantine basilica Notre Dame d’Afrique dates to French colonial rule. ― Google

Algiers [El Djazaïr]
Capital of Algeria
Algiers is the capital city of Algeria, on the country’s Mediterranean coast. It’s known for the whitewashed buildings of the Kasbah, a medina with steep winding streets, Ottoman palaces and a ruined citadel. The 17th-century Ketchaoua Mosque is flanked by 2 large minarets. The Great Mosque has marble columns and arches. The clifftop Catholic basilica of Notre-Dame d'Afrique features a large silver dome and mosaics. ― Google

Driving in Blida - Chrea Driving at Night - السياقة في منطقة الشريعة ليلا

Join me in this unique video as I'm driving on a rural road at night. This is the Chrea-Hammam Melouane-Tabainet road in the Blida Atlas (southeast of Blida). The trip started at sunset from the little mountain town of Chrea (which used to be a ski resort). When I approached the intersection of Sidi Serhane (where there's a road on the right that leads to Hammam Melouane, famous for its thermal bath), I started filming to capture what you can see as you're driving home shortly after sunset on this road. The section of the road I'm filming extends from the area of Sidi Serhane (above the town of Hammam Melouane) and the little town of Tabainet, at the foothills of the Blida Atlas Mountains. As I'm descending the mountain, lights from the towns and suburbs of the Metidja Plain start to appear, including the trail of light of the new Bouinan Motorway which links this area directly to the city of Algiers.

Tassili n'Ajjer is a heavily eroded sandstone rock formation in the Sahara desert, located on a vast plateau that encompasses southeastern Algeria, western Libya and northern Niger.
It features over 300 rock arches, dense clusters of eroded sandstone rock pillars, and steep cliffs and gorges, where water pools permanently at the surface.
Tassili n'Ajjer covers an area of over 72,000 km2.
The rock formation is an archaeological site, noted for its numerous prehistoric parietal works of rock art, first reported in 1910, that date to the early Neolithic era at the end of the last glacial period during which the Sahara was an inhabitable savanna rather than the current desert.
Although sources vary considerably, the earliest pieces of art are assumed to be 12,000 years old.
The vast majority date to the 9th and 10th millennia BP or younger, according to OSL dating of associated sediments.
Among the 15,000 engravings so far identified depicted are large wild animals including antelopes and crocodiles, cattle herds and humans that engage in activities such as hunting and dancing.
According to UNESCO, The exceptional density of paintings and engravings...have made Tassili world famous.
The range is composed largely of sandstone. The sandstone is stained by a thin outer layer of deposited metallic oxides
which color the rock formations anywhere from near-black to dull red.
Erosion in the area has resulted in nearly 300 natural rock arches being formed, along with many other spectacular landforms.
Because of the altitude and the water-holding properties of the sandstone, the vegetation here is somewhat richer than in the surrounding desert; it includes a very scattered woodland of the endangered endemic species Saharan Cypress and Saharan Myrtle in the higher eastern half of the range.
The ecology of the Tassili n'Ajjer is more fully described in the article West Saharan montane xeric woodlands, the ecoregion to which this area belongs.
Relict populations of the West African crocodile persisted in the Tassili n'Ajjer until the 20th century.
Various other fauna still reside on the plateau, including mouflons, the only surviving type of the larger mammals depicted in the area's rock paintings.

A TOUR IN MUSEUM BENI ISGEN GUARDAIA ALGERIA

Parc National De Gouraya in Bejaia‎, Algeria

The national park of Gouraya is one of the coastal national parks of Algeria. It is located in Béjaïa Province, near the shrine of Sidi Touati. The park became an Algerian National Park in 1984, and has been UNESCO-recognized as a biosphere reserve in 2004.

The park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including Barbary macaques and jackals who live in the forests in this park. The Barbary macaque is a primate with a very restricted range in portions of northwestern North Africa and disjunctively in Gibraltar.

Gouraya Biosphere Reserve lies on the Mediterranean coast, in the Kabylie region. It is a National Park of the same name. It occupies a mountainous massif which dominates the north-west of the town of Béjaïa culminating at 672 metres (Fort Gouraya), a small calcareous massif in the western zone, and a cliff of approximately 100 ha, It also contains a wetland, Lake Mézaïa, and a marine area located at the west of the Gulf of Béjaïa.

The core area corresponds to the strict reserve of the National Park with rare and endemic flora and fauna and a cultural heritage. The buffer zones consist of two zones, which serve to protect the strict reserve. The transition area includes several tourist and other infrastructures, and 13 villages located at the periphery of the park.

Repeated fires and permanent human pressures on the environment and especially a lack of suitable management over the years have gradually led to a decrease in the natural regenerative capacity of the forest.

The Biosphere Reserve/National Park promotes scientific research projects carried out by the local university and participates in regional studies and projects initiated by the regional authority. The Biosphere Reserve is involved in agricultural development related to mountain and hill farming and the distribution of fruit-bearing seedlings and beehives to the local population. The permanent population is of Berber origin and includes 1,655 inhabitants distributed in 13 villages. The main economic activities are administrative, commercial and artisanal activities. Mainly elderly people practise mountain and hill farming (bee keeping and arboriculture).

Discovery of the Ghost City of Sefar - Tassili Plateau in Algeria - Day 3 - Vlog - 4K

In this third day of the adventure I leave with the guide to discover the lost city of Sefar with its thousands of cave paintings. In a leaden silence, we discover through the maze of stone the presence of an ancient civilization which has left its mark through millennial paintings.

Sefar is a real labyrinth, the presence of a guide is mandatory.

At the end of the day at the camp, we had a visit from a jackal, unfortunately I didn't had time to film it :(

Safar, the overlooked city ( Cinematic video )

Sefar or Safar The enigma city of history. the city which tells the history of a country, of a civilization, to seek the solution of a great enigma of history. Enigma of a disappeared region but which shows us at the same time the civilization of the people who lived in it for more than 20,000 years before Jesus Christ

more than 15,000 cave paintings non-existent in any country in the world.

Each photo tells part of the story. An unknown story, of a past full of details and life.

Safar was classified by UNESCO in 1982 as the oldest region in the world and the greatest museum in the air by its number of drawings on the rocks the first information about it got in 1938 when a militar french man wanted to move to Lybia after that I 1956 the french historian and writer Henri Lott asked the Touareg that is called Djebrine Mechar who was born and lived there, to help him to discover this region by his experience in the heart of Safar and all regions that is near from it.

The name of Safar was inspirated from the Touareg word in Tamasheq that's called ASFAR or ASFAREN that means medecines. They took this word as a name of the region because the area was was ans is well known by its plants that used to occur people from enough scknesses and all these plants were studied by a woman that too the name of Lalla Asfar during years and centuries people thee started to change their language and make it easier until they started to call the city Safar and when Henri Lott finished his researches about this area he took the name of SEFAR for it.

This is Algeria, the country of story and culture and beauty and happiness. beautiful by its landscapes and its people also who is famous by his hosting.
