Ganalu Falls is located at Ganalu, Malvalli Taluk, Mandya District, Karnataka .The Shimsha river flows down to form the Ganalu Waterfalls. It is surrounded by rocky terrain, and requires little bit of trek to reach the final place. One needs to be cautious while ascending and descending towards the water fall. As the rocky surface can be dangerous in case of even minor mishaps.
Distance between Bangalore and Ganalu Falls is 99 kms. It is located 45 KM from Mandya , 15 KM from Malvalli and 69 Kms from Mysore.

Birotta watch tower is located 100km from Bangalore it is a old watch tower built by the Karnataka Forest department to watch over the biigest elephant corridor in south India across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka very close to Shivana Samudra / Ganalu falls. The district experiences an average annual rainfall of 700 millimeters. It has moderate summers with a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius and moderate winters with a minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.
The District is situated between 76° 19′ and 77° 20′ East Longitude and 12° 13′ and 13° 04′ North Latitude. It is bordered by Hassan and Tumkur Districts to the North, Tumkur and Bangalore Districts to the East, Mysore to the South, and Hassan and Mysore to the West.
Mandya district consists of 7 taluks with a total geographical area of 4,98,244 Hectares, out of which 2,53,067 Hectares are used for cultivation. More than half of the district's land is utilized for agricultural purposes, with 94,779 Hectares being irrigated. The district has a population of 19.25 lakhs, with approximately 5 lakh individuals employed in the Agriculture Sector.
The district headquarters, Mandya city, is located on the Bangalore-Mysore Highway. It is approximately 100 Kilometres away from Bangalore City and 40 Kilometres away from Mysore city. Other significant towns in the district include Maddur, Malavalli, Srirangapatna, Nagamangala, Krishnaraj Pete, and Pandavapura.
Mandya city is well-connected by road and rail. All trains traveling between Bangalore and Mysore pass through Maddur, Mandya, Pandavapura, and Srirangapatna. The nearest airport is in Bangalore city, which is about a two-hour drive away.

HISTORY OF SRI LAKSHMINARASIMHA SWAMY TEMPLE
Located 2 Kms away from Malavallli town the Marehalli Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple is one among the prominent Narasimhaswamy Temple in Mandya District. Belonging to the Sri Vaishnava tradition the temple is 1200 years old.
Built during the 10th century and renovated by Raja Raja chola 1st the temple exists amidst thick greenery in an area of around 12 acres. It is believed that long ago two sages by name Suyagna and Lambakarna performed yagnas and tapasyas where the temple exists now. The lord Narasimhaswamy pleased with their devotion appeared in their dream and assured that he would reside there. The place was earlier known was Gajaranya Kshetra. The deity Narasimhaswamy swamy locally known as Marehalli Mudukappa is also known as sowmya Narasimhaswamy.
The temple complex consists of the “Amrutheshwara” temple at the entrance two mantapas on either side of the temple. Facing the main structure is the 40 feet long Garuda Gamba and Brundawana. An Anjuneyaswamy Temple at the left followed by Pathalankana and Ganesh temple are at the main entrance of the temple. The Bhoodevi and Neeladevi deities are also worshipped here. Surrounded by 108 pillars and ankanas. The Navaranga leads to the sanctun sanctorum. Of the temple called the Shukanasini Mantapa. Where the lord is seated with Goddess Lakshmi on his left lap. Prominent among the belief is that an “Amruthakalasha” lies beneath the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi. Which when invoked with devotion full fills all desires.

About Mandya tourism :.
Located in Karnataka, Mandya is a sulturally and spiritually significant city. Also referred to as the land of five rivers, Hemavathi, Cauvery, Veeravaishnavi, Shimsha, and Lokpavani, Mandya is blessed with natural charm. The Marehalli Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple is one among the prominent Narasimhaswamy Temples in Mandya District Karnataka. The temple is in Sri Vaishnava tradition. Which is about 1200 years old built during Chola period, By Raja Raja Chola in around 10th century. Later Hoysalas, Vijyanagar kings and Hayder ali, Tippu ruled this region. This location was a agrahara.
The god Lakshmi Narasimha locally called Marehalli Mudukappa for the look the idol gets here during pooja and decoration.

Bangalore to Srirangapatna Road Trip via Kanakapura and Malavalli
Bangalore to Srirangapatna road route that is typically taken by people is under construction for upgradation of Bangalore - Mysore expressway to 10 lane. So we decided to try the Bangalore to Srirangapatna route via Kanakapura and Malavalli and we found that this is an awesome route for road trip. The road quality is pretty good though it is still two ways in parts. The section before kanakapura town is being readied for 4 lanes. The route is Bangalore - Kanakapura - Malavalli - Sathanur - Bannur - Srirangapatna. After Kanakapura town the topography looks more pristine and its a treat to drive on the road. As we approach closer to Malavalli the topography again changes for good. The area around Sathanur have protected forests and many jungle areas. After we crossed Malavalli and started approaching twowards Bannur, we could see a lot of paddy fields and sugar cane plantations. This area is in the Cauvery delta regions and is one of the most fertile lands in Karnataka.
The distance between Bangalore and Srirangapatna on this route is 161 KM and takes about 4 hours. The the regular Mysore expressway is 120 KM and takes about 2.5 hrs. But one must take into account the heavy traffic.
