Szeged Hungary: Top Things to See and Do (Just Walking) in One Day
One Day in Szeged, Hungary: Top Things to See and Do (Just Walking) in One Day
The third largest city in Hungary, Szeged, lies south of the country, near the borders of Serbia and Romania. The city has a long history, dating back to medieval times. Since it was destroyed in the flood in 1879, most Szeged attractions you can enjoy today date to the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. The Szeged of today has magnificent buildings, beautiful parks and squares, and is home to one of the best universities in the country. The city centre is a lovely place to walk, with wide pedestrianised streets lined with Neoclassical and Art Nouveau-style buildings. Szeged is also known as the City of Sunshine because it has the highest number of sunny days in Hungary. Since Szeged University is one of the most critical higher education institutions in Hungary, you can expect the large student population in the city and everything that comes with it: a wonderfully vibrant atmosphere, numerous cultural events, restaurants, cafes, etc.
Here are some of the top places to see (all of them are within walking distance of each other):
Széchenyi Square
Szeged City Hall
Dugonics Square
Kárász Street
Klauzál Square
Dom Square
Votive Church
Reök Palace
Móra Ferenc Museum
Raichl House
Arad Martyrs Square
Gróf Palace
Water Tower in Szent István square
Szeged National Theatre
Black House
Anna Thermal Baths
St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church
Protestant Church
The River Tisza

Camping Mako, Hungary 2012
Makó is a town in Csongrád County, in southeastern Hungary, it is a popular tourist destination in Hungary
Camping & Bungalows Makó has been operating as a family enterprise since 1982. The 10 ha area, situated right on the bank of the River Maros, and surrounding an orchard, offers our guests the beauty and calmness of a natural environment. Carefree relaxation and recreation, as well as active rest, are made possible by the facilities of the place. The different types of accommodation cater to various demands. When building the bungalows and creating the campsite, we did our best to apply environmentally friendly solutions that also agree with the landscape.
The trees in the wood offer a shaded refuge in the summer, and the grassy and well-tended surroundings are suitable for putting up your tent there, as well as for preparing your food at the sites nearby, specially built for cooking in the traditional Hungarian cauldrons or barbecuing your dinner. A closed parking lot is available for buses, vans, and motorcycle caravans.

Egy tökéletes nap Makón - kilimili.travel
Makó több, mint egy fürdő vagy egy lombkoronasétány. Még a kettő együtt sem tudja jellemezni a várost, amit bemutatunk most nektek.
Kis update a videóhoz: (08.03)

Some of the best things to do while visiting the Hungarian capital of Budapest include visiting Budapest’s City Park, shopping for souvenirs at Ecseri Flea Market, bearing witness to the stunning Hungarian Parliament Building, and experiencing the horrors of Hungary’s Communist era by way of Budapest’s House of Terror. Budapest’s City Park is arguably even more popular with locals than it is with tourists, but tourists will still find plenty to do there.
Ecseri Flea Market stands on the outskirts of Budapest and is one of the best places in the city to go souvenir shopping. The Hungarian Parliament Building exists for practical purposes, but the immense beauty of the building itself makes it a popular destination for tourists. Finally, Budapest’s House of Terror is a museum of sorts detailing Hungary’s history of Communism. Wonders of Hungary - Hollókő
In today's short film, we visit Hollókő.
This lovely little settlement is one of the jewels of the UNESCO World Heritage List: in addition to its beautiful old village, the local traditions, the exquisite folk costumes, and the high-quality handicrafts also enchant the visitor at every step - and if all that wasn't enough, the recently renovated medieval castle right over the village is still there to discover.

Wonders of Hungary: The Votive Church of Szeged and the Dömötör Tower
Welcome to the next episode of Wonders of Hungary, in which we present you the Votive Church of Szeged and the Dömötör Tower. 😍
Szeged Cathedral is an inevitable must-see sight in Szeged. It is one of the largest cathedrals in the country and was designed by one of the most influential architects of the 19th century, Frigyes Schulek. The construction of the church – built to commemorate the people who fled from the 1879 flood – was completed in 1930. The colourful stained glass windows were designed by the renowned Hungarian stained glass artist Miksa Róth. The lavish interior includes a real rarity: a mosaic of the Virgin Mary wearing “Szeged” style slippers and a szűr: the traditional fur overcoat worn by Hungarian shepherds. The western steeple of the church doubles as a lookout point.
Standing just outside the church, the Dömötör Tower is the steeple section of the medieval St Demetrius church, which used to occupy the land where the Votive Church now stands. The tower is the oldest surviving building in Szeged. Converted into a baptising chapel in 1931, the tower has a Baptism of Christ, a beautiful secco painted by renowned Hungarian artist Vilmos Aba‑Novák.

Welcome to Budapest, Hungary, an amazing city, full of history, beauty, and delicious Hungarian food! Today, I headed with my friend Adam ( to go on an ultimate Hungarian street food tour in Budapest. #Budapest #Hungary #HugarianFood
Great Market Hall - It’s one of the coolest markets in the world, a massive indoor market hall. Inside you’ll find all things Hungarian food, from an immense array of sausages and famous Hungarian cured meats to loads of paprika, and Hungarian pickles. We had an amazing time walking around, discovering the ingredients that make Hungarian food unique.

Belvárosi Disznótoros - Next we walked over to Belvárosi Disznótoros, a locally popular restaurant for all things Hungarian meat. Inside you’ll find meat paradise - sausages of all kinds, meats galore, and something I noticed that we had to try - Mangalica pig - a special hairy pig from Hungary. Total price - 5,348 HUF ($17.65)

Price - 1,200 HUF ($3.96) each
Retró Lángos Büfé - If you’re looking for the real deal Hungarian street food in Budapest, look no further than Retró Lángos Büfé, and specifically the food called langos. It’s a type of fried bread, loaded with you choice of toppings. We got the original with cream, cheese, and onions. It was everything you could possibly want on a fried bread, and incredibly tasty. I can still feel the pillowy dough sinking into my teeth. Price - 800 HUF ($2.64)
Downtown Market Hall - Hold Street Market - Next we headed to Downtown Market Hall in Budapest, another old market hall.
