Mafra | World Heritage | Portugal

REALLY IMPRESSIVE PALACE IN PORTUGAL | MAFRA
Hi guys! Today we should be in Alentejo but the weather wasn’t or side on our trip from Algarve to Lisbon. So instead we went to Mafra!
Today’s plan:
1. Mafra’s Palace and Convent
2. Garden’s of Cerco
We went to Mafra’s Palace and Convent and it was an incredible experience. The first impression is so unexpected. You’re in a normal city road and suddenly there’s this beautiful and gigantic construction. For us one of the most impressive we’ve seen in Portugal so far. This Palace was built by the king João V in the 18th century. At this time Portugal was really rich because of the colonies like Brazil, so they’re were able to build this massive construction with 1200 divisions!
It’s impossible not to be impressed by the exterior of the Palace.
But the interior is equally impressive, they were able to keep many pieces intact so you can see how the rooms were in the 18th century when the king lived there! Every ceiling is different and the extension of the corridors is also impressive. Also they have one of the most beautiful and important libraries in the world with almost 40.000 books.
After exploring the Palace we went to the gardens. They were inspired by the Versailles gardens of Paris. It was nice but in the winter you can’t truly appreciate it. We’re sure that during spring with all the flowers the impact must be different. So, if you’re a fan of gardens we advise you to go during that time! ☺️
THANK YOU❤️

We started a distance relationship flying twice a month (Lisbon - Barcelona) and after a few months of that, we finally moved in together in Barcelona, where Du was born and raised (his parents are from South Korea).
We started our Youtube channel because we love traveling, we always enjoy our trips and we wanted to keep our memories through nice videos, now we can share them with you.
Our final goal would be traveling full-time and someday, helping people around the world doing something nice.

Journey to Portugal Revisited - Mafra
Venture into a new literary journey through places in Portugal, once visited and described by José Saramago in his book Viagem a Portugal (Journey to Portugal, 1981, first edition). Seven new perspectives of these tours by contemporary writers.
“In village churches and in larger ones, the traveller saw half a dozen saints celebrated, and he celebrated as well, praising them and even believing in their proclaimed miracles.”
The rich heritage of Mafra has in the Royal Building of Mafra, which was included on the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 2019, one of its greatest showpieces, as it comprises the Royal Palace, the Basilica, the Convent, the Jardim do Cerco (Cerco Garden) and the Tapada Nacional de Mafra (National Hunting Grounds of Mafra). In turn, nearby Ericeira offers incredible waves for surfers, rare specimens of local fauna and flora, delightful seaside walks, and fresh fish. + info:

Algarve for sun-kissed beaches and aquatic experiences, Évora for historic architecture and traditional cuisine. Below are Top 10 Places to Visit in Portugal.
10. Coimbra
Coimbra, a scenic city by the Mondego River in Central Portugal, features many historic sites, beautiful parks, the country's second fado style, and a vibrant culture based around one of Europe's oldest colleges. Go lost to discover Coimbra's historic sites, from the Old Cathedral to the Gothic Monastery of Santa Clara a Velha, which houses Queen Isabel's tomb.
9. Azores

Tour boats and free bicycles are available in Aveiro, but walking is preferred. São Gonçalinho Chapel, Aveiro Cathedral, and Jesus Convent are popular. Great art and architecture.
7. Evora.
Tourists visit Alentejo's Evora. Roman rule sustained Evora for 2000 years. The Alentejo capital, Evora, has about 4000 ancient structures, including Roman walls and temples, in its well-preserved Old Town. Because its principal sights are close, Evora is easy to explore. Horse carriage rides around Portugal's most famous Gothic cathedral, Evora's 13th century Cathedral, are a terrific way to see the city.
6. Obidos.
Western Portugal's Centro Region's Obidos is surrounded by a defensive wall. 8th century Moors fortified the hill. The first Portuguese king, Afonso Henriques, captured it from the Moors in 1148 and modified it in the 14th century. The city's primary attractions the medieval castle and historic center are walkable.
5. Porto.
Portugal's port wine capital, Porto, has natural and architectural beauty.
Porto's metro, cable railway, and buses serve other Portuguese cities. Porto's riverside Ribeira pedestrian zone has live music, cafes, restaurants, and street sellers. The Ponte Dom Luis, a metal, double deck arch bridge connecting Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia, famous for its port wine cellars, dominates this tourist site.
4. Madeira.
Madeira Island, renowned as the Floating Garden of the Atlantic, is a beautiful oasis between Portugal and North Africa with lush green landscapes, flower gardens, wineries, and one of the world's largest New Year fireworks displays. Portugal's Madeira archipelago's main island, Madeira, is one of Europe's most beautiful. The island's natural beauty, year-round temperate climate, and low crime rate attract tourists from throughout the world.
3. Sintra.
Sintra, a day excursion from Lisbon, is a beautiful location of lush hills, royal retreats, palaces, and castles from the 8th century. Sintra's splendor captivated the Romans, Moors, and Portuguese monarchy, and Lord Byron called it the world's most beautiful village in a letter. Walking in Sintra's hills is tiring yet rewarding. Buses stop near all of the city's attractions, including Pena's Palace, a fairytale castle like Neuschnwanstein.
2. Algarve.
Sunny Mediterranean climate, gorgeous beaches, picturesque towns, flower-clad hills, historic sites, fabulous cuisine and affordable costs are just some of the reasons that make the Algarve one of Portugal’s most popular tourist destinations.
1. Lisbon
Stretching along the banks of the Tagus River near the Atlantic Ocean, Portugal’s capital and largest city winds upward among seven steep hills, forming an enchanting destination of warm weather, alluring alleys, quaint shops, Gothic cathedrals, impressive bridges and colorful neighborhoods, reverberating in traditional fado music.
