Shukratal is an ancient holy shrine. It is located near Muzaffarnagar and the distance from Rishikesh is approx 110 km. This place is considered to be a famous religious place of Hindus. Shukratal situated on the banks of river Ganges is located 30 kilometers from the district headquarters. It is said that only Maharishi Sukhdev Ji described Bhagwat Gita after King Parikshit, son of Abhimanyu and grandson of Arjuna at this place. A temple was built under the Vat tree near it. Sitting under this tree, Sukhdev Ji used to tell about Bhagwat Gita. There is also a Yagyashala inside the Sukhdev temple. The King used to recite the Bhagavad Gita to the Maharaja Sukhdev. Apart from this, a 35 feet tall statue of Lord Ganesha is also established here. Along with this, there is a 72 feet high statue of Akshaya Vat and Lord Hanuman ji at this place.
शुकतीर्थ यानी शुक्रताल वही धाम है जहां 5 हजार वर्ष पूर्व अक्षय वट के नीचे बैठकर भगवान शुकदेव जी महाराज ने महाराजा परीक्षित और सेंकडों साधु सन्यासियों को श्रीमद्भागवत कथा सुनाई थी। वीडियो में उसी अति विलक्षण वटवृक्ष एवं पवित्र धाम का इतिहास बताया गया है। साथ ही गणेश धाम, नवग्रह धाम, शिवधाम, गंगा घाट और संगम की विस्तृत जानकारी दी गयी है।
