Ille St Louis, Paris France

Paris walk to ille St Louis: We cross the Seine at Pont de la Tournelle to Ile St. Louis, in the middle of the river. This island is like a small quiet village in the midst of the city, with some of the oldest shops and mansions, and the best ice cream at Berthillon.
Just a beautiful place with one main narrow street down the middle – it's kind of a pedestrian street. There are a few cars going by, but you are safe walking down the middle, just keep your ears open for the cars that will show up. Lovely shops along the way – there's wine stores, cheese shops, flower shops, a couple of little hotels. It's isolated from the rest of Paris by the river, being on an island in the river, and there is very little automobile traffic here. There are no Metro stations at all on the island so you do have to walk up cross a bridge to the mainland to get the Metro – it's not that far – it's really fairly convenient. It's a good place to stay in one of the little hotels. There are 3 or 4 charming small hotels on the ill St Louis. It's a quiet peaceful spot with a lot of atmosphere.
We are heading to our favorite French ice cream shop Berthillon. This is always a treat for us. They have a lot of exotic flavors and what you want to do is try something different, something you haven't had before, and you really enjoy. They have small scoops, so you can have several – try make several different flavors. It's another one of those great indulgences you can enjoy when you're traveling. Even if you don't eat much ice cream at home you're going to love it on the road, especially at Berthillon. You can't miss it, it's right of the main crossroads in the center of ille St Louis. There are several ice cream shops on the ille St Louis that sell the Berthillon, but it's kind of fun to go to the mother load and get it from the source itself. And then you get a quick energy boost to continue along on our walk.

Anvaing Castle, in the middle of nature along with nature sounds
Anvaing Castle (French: Château d'Anvaing) or Château de Lannoy is a historic residence in the village of Anvaing in the municipality of Frasnes-lez-Anvaing, province of Hainaut, Wallonia, Belgium.
The site of the Château d'Anvaing has been occupied by a castle since the time of the First Crusade. The first known reference dates from 1127. There is little documentation of the buildings on the site however until the reconstructions of 1561 and 1800. The owners were apparently the Roubaix family, judging from the arms on an early part of the building, and later the de Lannoy family whose descendants still own it. Stéphanie de Lannoy, Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, grew up in the castle.
The castle is chiefly notable as the place in which the Belgian capitulation was signed on 28 May 1940, during the Battle of the Lys. At the time, it served as the headquarters of the German 6th Army. The Belgian plenipotentiaries arrived at the castle at 9:35 am. Shortly afterwards, General Olivier Derousseaux and Commandant Liagre were received by General Walther von Reichenau and Major-General Friedrich Paulus. Discussions took place in the dining room. At 10:00 am, the surrender became effective. The document was read and signed. In celebration, a German officer fired a gunshot into the ceiling which is still present.

La Route du Poisson - Training around le Touquet
I have never been to Le Touquet before, I am impressed how lovely it is. Part of the preparation for the race was training around the town.
