In January, I spent a few days in Strasbourg which is considered one of the capital cities of Europe. It gets this name from the fact that it hosts the European Parliament. Strasbourg is a gorgeous city in the Alsace region of France, which has historically had lots of influence from both Germany and France. You can especially see that in the architecture of the Old Town. Since my trip was in early January, some of the Christmas decoration was still up which looked incredibly pretty at night.

Our visit to Molsheim in the Alsace Region of France
A look at the beautiful Alsace town of Molsheim. A great stopover on the Alsatian Wine Route, and as a base to explore the region. We're only here for the night as we head off on our Lakes & Lederhosen tour, but what can we discover in a few hours.
We know it's where Ettore Bugatti set up his car works in 1909, when the region was part of Germany. So when we find a museum to the man and his machines - well, you have to. We also get to explore the La Chartreuse, or Charterhouse, before retiring back at the old town centre and the 16th century La Metzig.

Strasbourg, France Walking and Boat Tour 4K
After picking up a ticket for the tour boat in Place de la Cathedrale, we head to where the boat leaves from. It's not far away, and we have plenty of time, so we stop in a traditional Alsatian restaurant to have lunch. Later we pick up a cute blue hat for our daughter.
Having located the dock, we circle around behind the Cathedral. We go inside and check out the unique 'Horloge Astronomique'. Unfortunately, I didn't get footage of the rest of the Cathedral, but it's definitely worth the visit if you're in Strasbourg.
The video picks up again inside the tour boat, as it enters the lock to the upper water level. We continue through Petite France, and through the revolving bridge as on-lookers wave.

Jan. 24, 2023 was daddy’s birthday. We decided to visit Strasbourg. From Sasbach to Kehl train Station, it took us only 30 minutes. And from there, we just took tram which is only 20 minutes or less I think. We are very lucky to be situated near the border of France. The distnce between Strasbourg and Sasbach is around 37 km.

Strasbourg (/ˈstræzbɜːrɡ/, French: [stʁazbuʁ, stʁas-]; Alsatian: Strossburi [ˈʃd̥ʁɔːsb̥uʁi]; German: Straßburg [ˈʃtʁaːsbʊɐ̯k]) is the capital and largest city of the Grand Est region of France and is the official seat of the European Parliament. Located close to the border with Germany in the historic region of Alsace, it is the capital of the Bas-Rhin département. In 2014, the city proper had 276,170 inhabitants and both the Eurométropole de Strasbourg (Greater Strasbourg) and the Arrondissement of Strasbourg had 484,157 inhabitants.[2] Strasbourg's metropolitan area had a population of 773,347 in 2013 (not counting the section across the border in Germany), making it the ninth largest metro area in France and home to 13% of the Grand Est region's inhabitants. The transnational Eurodistrict Strasbourg-Ortenau had a population of 915,000 inhabitants in 2014.
Strasbourg is one of the de facto capitals of the European Union (alongside Brussels and Luxembourg), as it is the seat of several European institutions, such as the Council of Europe (with its European Court of Human Rights, its European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and its European Audiovisual Observatory) and the Eurocorps, as well as the European Parliament and the European Ombudsman of the European Union. The city is also the seat of the Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine and the International Institute of Human Rights.[6]
Strasbourg's historic city centre, the Grande Île (Grand Island), was classified a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1988, the first time such an honour was placed on an entire city centre. Strasbourg is immersed in Franco-German culture and although violently disputed throughout history, has been a cultural bridge between France and Germany for centuries, especially through the University of Strasbourg, currently the second largest in France, and the coexistence of Catholic and Protestant culture. It is also home to the largest Islamic place of worship in France, the Strasbourg Grand Mosque.
Economically, Strasbourg is an important centre of manufacturing and engineering, as well as a hub of road, rail, and river transportation. The port of Strasbourg is the second largest on the Rhine after Duisburg, Germany.
