1. Arena di Verona (00:10)
We kick off our tour with the Arena di Verona, one of Italy's most famous Roman amphitheaters and the third largest in the country. Built in the 1st century, this massive structure still hosts operas and concerts today, giving you a chance to experience history and art in a breathtaking setting. The Arena’s grand architecture and incredible acoustics make it a must-see landmark.
2. Piazza delle Erbe (02:30)
Next, we head to Piazza delle Erbe, Verona’s oldest square. Once a Roman forum, it’s now a bustling marketplace surrounded by stunning Renaissance buildings, historic frescoes, and iconic statues like the Madonna Verona fountain. The lively atmosphere and beautiful architecture make it the perfect spot to take in the essence of Verona.
3. Casa di Giulietta (05:23)
A visit to Verona isn’t complete without a stop at Casa di Giulietta, the legendary home of Juliet Capulet from Shakespeare’s famous “Romeo and Juliet.” Here, you can see the famous balcony and even leave a note on the wall for good luck in love. This 84-meter tower offers an incredible 360-degree view of the city, including the surrounding mountains and the winding Adige River. You can take the stairs or the elevator to the top, where you’ll experience one of Verona’s most unforgettable vistas.
5. Ponte Pietra (09:15)
Our tour wraps up at Ponte Pietra, an ancient Roman bridge spanning the Adige River. Ponte Pietra is the perfect spot to capture a picture-postcard view of Verona, especially at sunset when the city lights up in warm tones. Legnago, la capitale della pianura veronese.
Una cittadina dal passato importante, perché la sua storia è ricca di pagine epocali, che secolo dopo secolo hanno fortemente caratterizzato l'impronta economica e sociale di tutto il comprensorio.
Uno degli eventi più sentiti è la tradizionale Festa dei Sapori di San Martino (patrono della città), organizzata dalla Pro Loco con il supporto dell'associazione Vivilegnago e dell'amministrazione comunale, nella quale vengono celebrate molte tipicità agroalimentari prodotte da aziende legnaghesi e dell'immediato circondario.
Fra le tante iniziative programma, c'è anche la possibilità di visitare le bellezze più o meno nascoste grazie al tour guidato gestito dagli studenti dell'istituto professionale Medici, che prendono per mano le persone e in un paio d'ore fanno scoprire la cultura raccontata da monumenti, musei, ville e palazzi storici. Un'iniziativa molto bella, perché da un lato rivela molti aspetti di Legnago che non in molti conoscono e dall'altro mette in risalto la capacità dei ragazzi di sentirsi parte di questa cultura raccontandola al pubblico.

Legnago e l'Adige
Dopo il completamento della linea ferroviaria che collegava Verona con Rovigo, lungo la sponda destra dell'Adige, quello di Montagnana, stentava ad essere conseguito, anche in considerazione delle notevoli risorse pecuniarie, tutte da reperire, per realizzare il ponte sul fiume Adige. A dare voce nel parlamento di Roma, intervenne l'onorevole Luigi Chinaglia. Ma si dovette attendere il 1883, quando, ottenuto il necessario finanziamento, fu lanciata l'asta per la realizzazione del tronco Monselice-Montagnana.
Contemporaneamente si procedeva alla costruzione del ponte in ferro sull'Adige, una delle opere più costose ed impegnative della linea.
La pur nuova stazione di Legnago, aperta nel 1877 e situata a sud del centro abitato, non trovandosi più in posizione idonea a servire convenientemente la nuova linea proveniente da Monselice, venne dismessa, rimpiazzata dall'attuale e più importante impianto ferroviario, che, costruito più vicino al centro abitato, disponeva di fabbricati e piazzali di maggiori dimensioni. Con il termine dei lavori di costruzione del ponte sull'Adige, la linea venne finalmente completata anche nell'ultimo tratto rimasto fra Montagnana e Legnago e, il 31 Dicembre 1886, l'intera tratta venne inaugurata insieme con la nuova stazione ferroviaria di Legnago. Il collegamento fra Mantova – Legnago - Monselice – Padova divenne realtà e l’importante centro della bassa veronese venne così a beneficiare, già a fine ‘800, del passaggio di due linee ferroviarie.
Il ponte stradale sull'Adige «Principe Umberto», in cemento armato, venne inaugurato il 19 giugno 1949 dopo la distruzione del ponte antecedente causata dai bombardamenti alleati della Seconda guerra mondiale.
