Via Francisca del Lucomagno: da Ponte Tresa a Ganna, prima parte
Qui il video della seconda parte:
E' sempre emozionante quando inizia un nuovo cammino e anche questo non fa eccezione: ecco a voi la prima tappa della Via Francisca del Lucomagno in terra italiana.
Si parte da Ponte Tresa, al confine con la Svizzera e si percorre la sponda italiana del lago di Lugano fino a Lavena.
Da qui si sale velocemente verso il parco dell'Argentera con i suoi sentieri ombreggiati e i famosi mulini.
Lungo il percorso incontreremo diverse località dal nome estroso (mai sentito Cugliate Fabiasco? ) e arriveremo fino a Ghirla, dove potremo ammirare (dall'esterno) il Maglio e costeggeremo l'omonimo lago.
Un piccolo sforzo e saremo al fine tappa, alla Badia di S. Gemolo a Ganna.

It is always exciting when a new journey begins and this too makes no exception: here is the first stage of the Via Francisca del Lucomagno on Italian soil.
It starts from Ponte Tresa, on the border with Switzerland and travels along the Italian shore of Lake Lugano to Lavena.
From here you quickly climb towards the Argentera park with its shady paths and the famous mills.
Along the way we will meet several places with a whimsical name (never heard of Cugliate Fabiasco?) And we will reach Ghirla, where we will be able to admire (from the outside) the Maglio and we will skirt the homonymous lake.
A little effort and we will be at the end of the stage, at the Badia di S. Gemolo in Ganna.

Ciao a tutti, siamo su un battello sul Lago Maggiore. Ci siamo imbarcati a Verbania Intra per andare a Laveno.
Stiamo andando a Laveno per trascorrere il pomeriggio in cima al Sasso del Ferro e per godere di una buona cena in un posto magnifico.
Altre 2 cose da vedere qui a Laveno sono il lungolago e l’Eremo di Santa Caterina che è facilmente ragiungibile da Laveno.
Siamo quasi arrivati infatti possiamo ammirare davanti a noi Laveno.
Per salire sul Sasso del Ferro dobbiamo andare alla bindonvia ma nel frattempo possiamo godere di una bella passeggiata sul lungolago di Laveno.
Per andare all’Eremo di Santa Caterina da Laveno puoi andare in battello o in auto.
Il traghetto che da Verbania arriva a Laveno può portare anche le auto. In questo modo puoi venire a Laveno da Verbania per poi andare all’Eremo in auto.
L’opzione migliore per andare all’Eremo è comunque in Battello. In questo modo puoi vedere L’Eremo dal lago.
Ora torniamo a Laveno per vedere la salita sulla bidonvia e la vista dal Sasso del Ferro.

Hi everybody, we are on a boat on Lake Maggiore. We boarded in Verbania Intra to go to Laveno.
We’re going to Laveno to spend the afternoon on the top of the Sasso del Ferro and to enjoy a good dinner in a magnificent place.
Two other things to see here in Laveno are the lakefront and the Hermitage of Santa Caterina which is easily reachable from Laveno.
We are almost there in fact and we can admire Laveno in front of us.
To climb the Sasso del Ferro, we have to go to the cableway, but in the meantime, we can enjoy a nice walk along the Laveno lakefront.
To go to the Hermitage of Santa Caterina from Laveno, you can go by boat or car.
The ferry from Verbania to Laveno can also bring cars. This way you can come to Laveno from Verbania and then go to the Hermitage by car.
However, the best option to go to the Hermitage is by boat. This way you can see the Hermitage from the lake.
Now let's go back to Laveno to see the ascent on the cable car and the view from the Sasso del Ferro.

Ponte is Italian amd means bridge. Tresa is the name of the river in this region. The river Tresa is the border between Switzerland and Italy for some kilometers.
Ponte Tresa has a population of about 800. It is situated on the lake Lugano in the canton of Ticino.

Brusimpiano is a comune (municipality) on Lake Lugano in the Province of Varese in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) northwest of Milan and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) north of Varese, on the border with Switzerland.
Brusimpiano borders the following municipalities: Barbengo (Switzerland), Caslano (Switzerland), Cuasso al Monte, Lavena Ponte Tresa, Marzio, Morcote (Switzerland), Porto Ceresio. The Comune is not far away from the Cinque Vette Park.
The name derives from the Greek bruxino (narrow), from which Bruxino a plano, or narrow flat peninsula, a toponym of probable Byzantine origin was derived.
