South lafourche veterans park Galliano, Louisiana.
South lafourche veterans park galliano, Louisiana is a Beautifully landscaped memorial featuring a 122 feet granite wall monument with over 3,000 names of veterans of south Lafourche Parish.
As a way to keep the memories of fallen soldiers alive, Doucet and members of the American Legion post in Golden Meadow came up with the idea to have a memorial park built in the parish.
The park honors South Lafourche Parish residents who have fought and died, who have fought and survived and those currently in service.
The park sits on La. 3235 in Galliano. It is home to a memorial wall with the names of over 3000 soldiers
This is hallowed ground for soldiers who fought and died in the war, These people all lived in the 10th ward from Larose to Fourchon.
Upon entering the park, visitors are greeted by a large marble sign that reads: Freedom is not free.
Behind it, there's a walkway with statues of soldiers in combat gear holding weapons, surrounded by military flags.
And the memorial wall sits not too far away from the walkway.
A gazebo and memorial path lined with granite plaques of fallen soldiers sits behind the wall.
It’s a great stop in this little town, definitely worth your time to pay your respect and learn about the dedication of this community.

2. Sliding Rock, United States
Go to North Carolina’s Sliding Rock, which is exactly what it sounds like. Nestled in Pisgah National Forest, this slanted rock is a favorite for tourists wanting a little thrill and a reprieve from the summer heat.
3. Cenote Ik Kil, Mexico
Take a swim in a Mayan holy spot, the Cenote Ik Kil in Yucatan, Mexico. The popular tourist destination comes with a restaurant and a shop, so you can commemorate your dip in the 115-foot-deep pools with a meal and a souvenir.
4. To Sua Ocean Trench, Samoa
The 100-foot-deep pool on the southern coast of Samoa’s Upolu island is just one of the attractions on hand. In addition, the village of Lotofago has a vibrant food market, a white sand beach, and plenty more to see and do.

Unbelievable Facts about the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge
Join us as we cross the iconic Atchafalaya Basin Bridge on I-10 in South Louisiana. Get a glimpse of the stunning views and experience driving on one of the longest bridges in the US!
If you've ever crossed the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge in South Louisiana, you know it can be a little stressful. Interstate 10 runs across the bridge from Breaux Bridge and Lafayette in the west, with Port Allen and Baton Rouge on the east side. There is an average of over 30,000 vehicles crossing the bridge daily and the views of the Atchafalaya Swamp are beautiful.
You'll find two exits off the bridge, which runs over 18 miles over the wetlands: Whiskey Bay and Butte LaRose, where you'll also find the visitor center. The speed limits are posted (55 for trucks, 60 for cars), and make sure you follow them. We've seen lots of wrecks on the bridge, as well as lots of State Troopers patrolling throughout the day.
It's a beautiful area, and whether you're headed east or west, make sure to enjoy some of the amazing food Louisiana is famous for! It's late April when we're posting this video, and it's prime time for crawfish! Try Louisiana Crawfish Time in Lafayette if you can:
