এক নজরে নদিয়া জেলার ১২ টি দর্শনীয় স্থান || Place Of Attractions || Nadia || আমার বাংলা ||
ভাগীরথী নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত নদিয়া হিন্দু ধর্মালম্বিদের জন্য একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তীর্থস্থান। রাজা বল্লাল সেন নদিয়া প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন। প্রাচীন বাংলার হিন্দু রাজারা গৌড়ের পাশাপাশি নদিয়াতেও বসবাস করতেন। রাজা বল্লাল সেন তার রাজত্বকালে পরিবারের সদস্যদের নিয়ে ভাগীরথী নদীতে তীর্থস্নান করার জন্য আসতেন। তিনি এই নদীর তীরে পঞ্চরত্ন নামে একটি মন্দির প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন। সেনাপতি ইখতিয়ার উদ্দিন মুহম্মদ বিন বখতিয়ার খলজী কর্তৃক বিজিত হওয়ার আগে অবধি নদিয়া বাংলার রাজধানী ছিল। নদীর পশ্চিম তীরে প্রাচীর বেষ্টিত একটি নগরীতে রাজপ্রাসাদ, হারেম, বাজার ও বাসস্থান ছিল। মনে করা হয় যে, তিব্বত, নেপাল ও ভূটানের সাথে নদিয়ার বাণিজ্যিক যোগাযোগ ছিল। ১৮৬৯ সালে নদিয়া পৌরসভা হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি লাভ করে। নদিয়া একটি ঐতিহাসিক জায়গা। ১৭৮৭ সালে ইস্ট ইন্ডিয়া কোম্পানির শাসনকালে জেলা হিসেবে নদিয়ার জন্ম হয়। সেই সময় বর্তমান হুগলি ও উত্তর ২৪ পরগনা জেলার কিছু অংশ এই জেলার সঙ্গে যুক্ত ছিল। ১৯৪৭ সালে তিন দিনের জন্য এই জেলা পাকিস্তানের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়। তিন দিন বাদে ১৮ আগস্ট কিছু অংশ বাদে নদিয়া পুনরায় ভারতের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়। ১৯৪৮ সালে নদিয়া জেলা তার বর্তমান রূপটি লাভ করে। ১৯৪৭ সালে কিছুদিনের জন্য জেলার নামকরণ 'নবদ্বীপ' করা হলেও পরে সেই নাম বাতিল করা হয়।

Nabadwip Dham railway station is a railway station on Bandel–Katwa line connecting from Bandel to Katwa, and under the jurisdiction of Howrah railway division of Eastern Railway zone.[2] This is the main railway station of Nabadwip town of Nadia district in the state of West Bengal. It is situated beside State Highway 8, connecting Nabadwip and Krishnanager through Gouranga Bridge. It serves Nabadwip and the surrounding areas. Almost all EMU and Passenger trains stop at Nabadwip railway station.[3] The distance between Howrah and Nabadwip railway station is approximately 105 km.[4]It has 16th longest railway platform in world 720 m (2,362 ft).
The birth of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is an important chapter of the fifteenth century. With the advent of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Vaishnava culture was well established in Nabadwip. However, even before the birth of Mahaprabhu, during the reign of Jalaluddin Fateh Shah (1481–87), royal fear appeared in Nabadwip. The ruling society and the Brahmin society obstructed the spread of Vaishnava culture in Nabadwip at that time.[13] Many Brahmin scholars and common people had to leave Nabadwip at that time due to the oppression of the king. However, when Chand Kazi, the then ruler of Nabadwip, issued an order to the Vaishnava community to stop chanting, Mahaprabhu went to Kazi's house with his companions and convinced the Kazi to allow the chanting, which is the first instance of civil disobedience movement in the history of India.[14] During Chaitanya and later, various Pandits-Sadhaks-Vidyalankars and Sanskrit Pandits were born in Nabadwip. During the period of Chaitanya, Basudev Sarvabhauma, Raghunath Shiromani, Raghunandan etc. and later Krishnananda Agamavagisha, Buno Ramnath etc., Nabadwip became the main center of Sanskrit practice and learning.[15] At the time of Raja Rudra Roy, there were four thousand students and six hundred professors teaching in Nabadwip, leading to its nickname as the Oxford of Bengal.[16]

In Ranaghat, however, Durga is worshiped in many Banedi houses like Sharma Bari, Pal Choudhury Bari, Dey Choudhury Bari.
There are some important roads in Ranaghat Subhas Avenue Road, GNPC Road. Rabindra Tagore came to Ranaghat and met the poet Nabin Chandra Sen.

Nabadwip, a town in Nadia district and the best town in West Bengal as well, was the capital of Bengal under Ballal Sen and later Lakshman Sen, kings of the Sena Empire, who ruled from 1159 to 1206. In 1202, Nabadwip was captured by Bakhtiyar Khilji. This victory paved the way for Muslim rule in Bengal. Nabadwip and some other places in Nadia were centres of learning and intellectual prowess. Chaitanyadeb (1486-1533) was born in Nabadwip. The first school of logic (Tarkashastra) in India was set up on the Navya Nyaya system in Nabadwip, which produced great logicians in the 15th century. It was the place where Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, a major Hindu saint, was born and lived. The religious atmosphere of Nabadwip is a combination of Baishnaba, Shakta, Buddha, shaiva. The main festival of Nabadwip is Rash Utsab (Rasa lila). It is also known as Pat Purnima or Rash Kali Puja or Shakta Rash. The varieties of Baishnaba, Shakta, Saiba Pratima (Idols) attracts every one.

Krishnanagar municipality was established in 1864 and is one of the oldest municipalities in Bengal. It is claimed to be named after Krishna Chandra Ray (1728–1782). Previously, the city (village) was called ‘Reui’ (রেউই). The Rajbari built here during the reign of Zaminder Krishna Chandra Roy is a prominent tourist attraction, though the remnants of the past glory have been eroded and only a dilapidated structure of the exquisite places with carving on its inner walls remain today.
Keishnanagar Rajbari:
Rajbari, also known as the Krishnanagar Palace, is a royal palace with a Durga temple in the courtyard. The Durga puja was started by Raja Rudra Roy, the great-grandfather of Raja Krishnachandra Roy. Every year, Jhulan Mela is celebrated around the Rajbari in July–August and Baro Dol (as it is held 12 days after Dol Purnima) in March–April every year. Rajbari is mostly visited for the celebration of different festivals. These include the popular Jhulan Mela and the festival of colours Holi or Baro Dol. The historical monument surrounded by a water-body known as Dighi has a beautiful Goddess Durga temple erected in its central courtyard.
Ghurni Putul Patti:
The famous area called Ghurni is the birthplace of Yogiraj Sri Shyama Charan Lahiri Mahasaya, fountain-head of Kriya Yoga.[19] Ghurni is the neighbourhood of the clay artists. Open studios and shops of the artists comprise an important attraction for tourists. It is said[by whom?] that initially it was Raja Krishnachandra who had settled a few families of talented clay artists in the area.

Adhar Chandra Das & Sons, an authentic and eminent Sweet shop in the heart of the city Krishnanagar offers distinctive, traditional and quality sweets of its own kind. They are the inventor of two famed Bengali sweets Sarpuria and Sarvaja which is famous all over Krishnanagar.

Roman Catholic Diocese of Krishnagar, a Catholic church, is famous for its architectural and sculptural splendour. There are 27 oil paintings describing the life of Lord Jesus Christ. Of special mentions are the wooden sculptures by Italian artists. The Church portrays the awesome architecture and wooden sculpture of that era. There are twenty seven oil paintings depicting the entire life of Jesus Christ.
