Kolasin is city on the North of Montenegro. Founded by Turks in 17th century, this small city is one of must visit places in Montenegro. The restless Rivers Tara and Moraca stream along it and is surrounded by mountains. Sinjajevina, Bjelasica, Kljuc and Vucje embraced this little city.
Kolasin is located at 954m of altitude and offers excellent vacation as in winter as well as summer. Because of altitude and favorable clime Kolasin is considered and air spa.
A special attraction for tourists represents the Lake Biograd located in National park Biogradska gora which is one of three preserved virgin forest of Europe. The Lake Biograd is at 1094m of altitude and around it there are walking paths.

If you are reaching Kolasin, don’t skip visiting, what mountaineers believe to be, the third most impressive mountain range after Dumitor and Prokletije; an absolute highlight - Mountain Komovi!
There are three rocky giants to be conquered - Kom Kučki (2487m), Kom Vasojevićki (2461m – 8159 feet) and Kom Lijevorečki (2483m – 8146 feet), and perfect base for staying is eco-village Stavna, ideally located at the foot of the mountain, with fairy-tale-looking view of the peaks straight from the window.
You can take a hike directly from your bungalow, no need for further transportation, but to get to Stavna or Komovi Mt., the only way is a car or a private tour.
Trails are not difficult for experienced hikers, jut make sure you have a map with you, and for beginners, it is always better to have someone local take you.

is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 1.678 meters (5505 feet) above the sea level located in the west of Montenegro, between Nikšić and Kolašin on Mount Lukavica, part of the Moracke planine mountain range. The deepest point in the lake reaches 37 meter. It is one of the numerous crystal-clear glacial lakes that can be found in this area. The name’s lake is derived from Captain Mušović, head of the Nikšić district, during the Ottoman occupation, accompanied with it is own legend like fairy tale story attached to it.”
