Hike North of Kitimat BC. Beautiful lakes and waterfalls. Best of what northern BC has to offer.

This was a 6 Km hike that we did. The hike starts off by bringing you right up the side of the mountain, nothing to hard though. After a quick climb the trail just meanders from hill to hill, lake to lake breathtaking to breathtaking view.
This is what is all about when you live in northern Canada. The Kitimat area is full of many different adventures. 4 seasons adventure.

Located across from Rio Tinto aluminium smelter, Moore Creek Falls is a photographer's delight. As you climb the rugged staircase carved into the hillside, the sound of snowmelt water rushing down the banks leaves you anticipating what's ahead. These falls are more spectacular after a good rain.

Kitimat is where a whole lot of aluminum is made at Alcan (company name). Next time you bake a potato in Alcan aluminum foil, you can think of lovely Kitimat and Beethoven.



We start this walk near Swan Street. We head to Nalabila Boulevard and take a left there.

Kitimat Series continues with its Episode 4. In the Episode 4 of Kitimat Series, I am bring you to the ideas what to do for a short escape in Kitimat !

In the early morning, it is very quiet in the Kitimat town. Take this opportunity for driving to Minette Bay Park West located about 10 mins drive from Mstar Hotel. Here you can have a short walk and rest with the sea view while having your morning coffee with muffin !

After a long day at work, why not just stop at Moore Creek Falls. The falls just across the LNGC Site Office (Or Rio Tinto office). No need for a long hike! You can hear the waterfall from the roadside!

Before reaching your hotel, why not stop by at the Giant Spruce Park / Trail. Stretch your legs after a long day at the office !!!

Located just south of the Rio Tinto smelter; just off the Bish Creek Service road (about a 15 minute drive). It is a nice 20 minute hike down hill to an beautiful open cove off the Douglas Channel.
