MERIDA City Guide | Mexico | Travel Guide
Merida is the capital and largest city in Yucatan state in Mexico, as well as the largest city of the Yucatan Peninsula. Merida is located in the northwest part of the state, about 35 kilometres off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Merida is also the municipal seat of the Municipality of Merida, which includes the city and the areas around it.
Mérida has a rich Maya civilization history that predates the arrival of the Spanish by centuries. The city was built on the site of the ancient Maya city of T’hó, one of the oldest, continually-occupied cities in the Americas.

Exploring Centro Merida, Mexico
Merida is the capitol city of the Yucatan state of Mexico. I returned here after many months away because Playa Del Carmen was just too damn expensive at the moment.
Everyone and their gato is travelling there for freedom from lockdown Tyranny, so I can't blame the Mexicans for cranking up the prices.
