MAHALE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK (KIGOMA, TANZANIA)
Uno de los últimos lugares donde viven los chimpancés salvajes está en el oeste de Tanzania, a orillas del lago Tanganica. Visitar el Parque Nacional de las Montañas Mahale y experimentar los chimpancés en este paisaje jurásico de profundas selvas tropicales llenas de vida que llegan a las orillas del lago es verdaderamente mágico. El parque es uno de los pocos en África que debe ser explorado a pie. No hay carreteras ni otras infraestructuras dentro de sus límites y la única manera de entrar y salir de ella es en barco en el lago. Tampoco hay carreteras en 60 kilómetros a la redonda, solitarias y perdidas lejos de la civilización, cuando estás aquí tienes la sensación de pertenecer a otro mundo.
Calas de un blanco sedoso bordean las aguas azules del lago Tanganica, eclipsado por una cadena de picos salvajes cubiertos de jungla exuberante que se elevan a más de 2400m: las misteriosas montañas de Mahale.
Cuesta imaginar algo más idílico que la combinación de aguas azules y transparentes, playas de arena blanca al pie de montes selváticos y la posibilidad de observar una vida fascinante y enigmática en un emplazamiento tan remoto que es posible disfrutarlo a solas.
One of the last places where wild chimpanzees live is in western Tanzania, on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Visiting the Mahale Mountains National Park and experiencing chimpanzees in this Jurassic landscape of deep rainforests full of life that reach the shores of the lake is truly magical. The park is one of the few in Africa that must be explored on foot. There are no roads or other infrastructure within its boundaries and the only way in and out of it is by boat on the lake. Nor are there any roads for 60 kilometres around, lonely and lost away from civilization, when you are here you have the feeling of belonging to another world.
Silky white coves border the blue waters of Lake Tanganyika, eclipsed by a chain of wild peaks covered with lush jungle rising to over 2400m: the mysterious Mahale Mountains. It is hard to imagine anything more idyllic than the combination of blue and transparent waters, white sandy beaches at the foot of jungle mountains and the possibility of observing a fascinating and enigmatic life in a location so remote that it is possible to enjoy it alone.

Best and Cheapest Scuba Diving in Tanzania- Kigoma II Amazing Experience
Scuba Diving in tanzaniais worth the experience and it's very affordable/cheap also. We went to kigoma just to explore the lake and we had not thought of doing Scuba Diving. But there we accidentally met with Jack and he convinced us to do Scuba diving and shared every detail with us. Like where we have to register, the cost of scuba diving, place, and the timing. So finally we were ready to jump in the crystal clear water of
lake tangayenika.

The price was 50-60$ but it will vary with the season and availability and the package included the long boat ride to the scuba point for Scuba diving.
And the whole experience of scuba diving was around 95-100 minutes. It was the best experience of my life until now. And also one task is checked from my bucket list 😁

16th January 2021 I took the bus from Mpanda to Kigoma with the solo purpose of experiencing the magnificent sunsets over Lake Tanganyika. One of Africa's Great lakes.
There are several spots alone the shoreline of Lake Tanganyika to enjoy sundowners, swimming or boat rides on the Lake. Be sure to check out the Hill top hotel terrace and the beach, Lake Tanganyika Hotel terrace, Kimba Beach Resort waterfront and Jakobsen Beach and Guest House for boat rides and Bangwe Beach.

Kigoma est situé sur les rives du lac Tanganyika, au nord-ouest de la Tanzanie. Il partage des frontières avec le Burundi et la région de Kaguéra au nord, les régions de Shinyanga et Tabora à l'est, le Congo à l'ouest et la région de Roukwa au sud. L'ensemble de la région a une superficie de 45 066 kilomètres carrés, ce qui équivaut à 4,8 % de la superficie totale de la Tanzanie, dont 8 029 km2 d'eau, et 37 039 km2 de terres. La région constitue une bonne base terrestre, pour les visites et les safaris dans les parcs nationaux, comme Gombé, et Mahalé, mais possède également différentes attractions touristiques, qui rendront votre visite à Kigoma valable.
Le lac Tanganyika possède de nombreux types d'espèces de poissons que l'on ne trouve nulle part ailleurs. Le lac regorge de 214 variétés d'espèces de poissons. La pêche commerciale a lieu dans le lac, qui est fortement contribué par six espèces, à savoir Oména, Loumbo, Miguébouka, Sangara, Nonzi et Gomba. Kigoma a un potentiel prometteur pour la pêche dans ses eaux.
Kigoma est divisé en quatre zones agro économiques, basées sur l'altitude et les précipitations annuelles correspondantes. La première zone est la zone Lake-Shore, située à une altitude de 800 à 1000 mètres. Les cultures courantes sont le paddy, le manioc, le maïs, les zharicots et le palmier à huile. La principale activité économique est la pêche. La deuxième zone est la zone de Miombo, située entre 1000 et 1200 mètres d'altitude. Les principales activités économiques sont l'élevage, la chasse et l'apiculture. La troisième zone est la zone intermédiaire, qui se situe entre 1200 et 1500 mètres d'altitude.
Les cultures courantes sont le manioc, le maïs, les haricots, le coton, le sorgho, le palmier à huile et le tabac. La quatrième zone est la zone Highland située à une altitude de 1500 mètres à 1700 mètres avec une pluviométrie annuelle de 1000 à 1600 mm. Au sud, c'est là que les monts Mahalé sont présents, et au nord, c'est là que se trouve le parc national de Gombé. Les cultures courantes comprennent le maïs, les zharicots, la banane et le café.
