10 Best Rated Attractions In Thailand for 2022

Thailand is one of the world's most visited countries, with over 35 million visitors each year. The stunning southern islands, Bangkok's diverse street food scene, and the thousands of temples scattered across the country are among the most iconic attractions.

Thailand is the only country in Southeast Asia that has never been colonized by a European country. In fact, the country's name in Thai is Prathet Thai, which translates as land of the free.

People often marvel at Thailand's forests and jungles, but there used to be more. Most people are unaware that hardwood forest-covered nearly all of northern Thailand over a century ago. Only about a quarter of that forest remains today. As a result, Thailand has outright prohibited logging.

If you enjoy learning about different countries and cultures, please like and subscribe to our channel to see more videos like this. Watch till the end of this video, I will share with you a famous attraction that is the same size as Singapore.

#10 Top 10 Things to Do Bangkok NOW - Visit GOLDEN mount at Sunset By Khlong Saen Saeb Canal Boat

Took the Khlong Saen Saep Canal Boat to the Golden Mount in Bangkok. I was hoping to experience some of the Loy Krathong celebrations, but unfortunately it did not work today.

The Golden Mount or Wat Saket is a man made hill which is 77 meters high. To walk up the Wat Saket you have to climb 344 stairs. I was there around sunset and had great views. It is a must see in Bangkok.

Khlong Phra Khanong 10 (Prawet): Bicycle Guided Private Tour ✨ Exploring Bangkok's Cultural Heritage

⬇️ What to expect:

Bangkok's khlongs, or canals, present a vivid tableau of city life that has evolved around waterways, echoing a tradition that stretches back to the Ayutthaya period. The city's geographical tapestry was profoundly influenced by these canals, initially carved out for defense and transportation during the Ayutthaya era and continuing to shape the capital's development.

Khlong Saen Saep, slicing through the urban landscape, offers a swift and scenic route for daily commuters and curious travelers alike, while Khlong Bangkok Noi and Khlong Bangkok Yai in Thonburi (former capital from 1767-1782), remnants of the old city's moats, narrate stories of ancient communities and trading histories. These iconic canals, along with the majestic Chao Phraya River, have fostered a unique khlong way of life, where wooden houses perch on stilts, and floating markets burst with colors and flavors, exemplifying the living heritage of Bangkok.

Visitors can delve into this aqueous world through numerous canal tours. Family-friendly options and eco-friendly tours highlight the commitment to sustainable travel within the city's waterways. The Khlong Mon cultural heritage and art installations along Khlong Bang Luang offer glimpses into the artistic soul of the region, enriching the visitor experience.

These waterways not only serve as arteries of transport but are also custodians of biodiversity, with myriad species calling these waters home. Khlong Phasi Charoen's boat rides reveal the ecological tapestry woven into the urban fabric, emphasizing a lifestyle inextricably linked to the rhythmic flows of the water. Through guided tours, travelers uncover the layered complexity of Bangkok's canals, witnessing a way of life that continues to thrive on these historic waters.

Bangkok Floating Market Visit by MRT - Khlong Bang Luang Canal Artist's House

I took the MRT to Bang Phai station to visit the Bang Luang Floating Market and the Artist House (Baan Silapin). It is a nice River community, a perfect day out. Easy to combine with a visit to the Paknam Temple with the huge Golden Buddha.

I walked to the Motorcycle stand and took the easy ride towards the village. At the Village I explored a bit and found the Artist's House. Decided to buy some food for the fish and a few chicken sticks for myself.

This is part of a big video and you can see the second part here :

Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market Bangkok

Khlong Lat Mayom is a traditional floating market around 10 km east of downtown Bangkok. You can get there by taxi from the Wongwian Yai BTS Skytrain Station. Local market culture has deep roots in Thai daily life and eating out is not a special event as it is in western culture. It's fun, cheap and casual, and Thai food has so many variations it can be a travelling theme on its own. Khlong Lat Mayom really has the charm and authenticity of a local market – you might be one of the only foreigners around when you visit. The canal at Khlong Lat Mayom is very narrow, with only a few boats parked alongside the riverbank and below a low bridge. These small boats usually prepare meals for customers who sit at low tables on the waterfront. Eating is always the highlight of a floating market visit, sitting on a little wooden stool and ordering a dish cooked on a tiny wooden boat anchored just next to your table is such a fun and exotic experience. Some of the best things to eat at Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market are boat noodles, pad Thai, kanom jeen (cold rice vermicelli) or hoi tod (oyster omelette) – which sets you back about 30 baht per dish. Drinks are usually sold by someone with a pushcart.

The largest part of the market is built on firm ground. One side is dedicated to the fresh market, mostly beautiful veggies and fruits, while the other sells all kinds of colourful snacks, sweets and cooked food. Stock up on tropical fruits, including huge papayas, large green or ripe mangoes, rose apples, sapodillas, and pomelos. Further inside the market, you can buy cheap clothing, home décor, accessories, toys, and fresh flowers (always popular at Bangkok's riverside markets).
