Kempston Hardwick Station 27/11/18

We visit all the stations between Bedford and Bletchley on a very wintery day, this is in aid of getting the Class 150's and 153's that work the route. Its a bit of a challenging line to do because of the service pattern and did involve a bit of walking but it's all part of the fun! Enjoy!

4K Marston Vale Line || A Relaxed Journey from Bedford to Bletchley

Between the racetracks that are the Midland Mainline and West Coast Mainline is something a little more relaxed and down to earth. The Marston Vale Line is a rural gem, travelling through former brickworks country.

Join me on a rail journey from Bedford to Bletchley on a spirited Class 150 London Northwestern Railway service. We amble from one village to the next - no rush, basically. Make yourself a cuppa and enjoy.

Kempston Town UK July 2014 Kempston Road, Bedford Road, & High Street HD 1080 option.

Millbrook Railway Station (Bedfordshire)***Bedfordshire least used railway station***(MLB)

Millbrook (Bedfordshire) is currently the least used railway station in Bedfordshire with 1,042 entries & exits in the latest passenger usage statistics from 2020/2021. Millbrook is not always the least used station in the county with other stations such as Kempston Hardwick also receiving few passengers.
Millbrook station has 2 platforms on a double track section of the Marston Vale line from Bedford to Bletchley (eventually East West rail). The line through the station is unelectrified with all services being diesel operated services by trains.
There is an hourly service in each direction to both Bedford and Bletchley calling at all stations on this line. At Bedford connection to Thameslink and East Midlands Railway Midland Main Line services are possible with Bletchley providing London Northwestern Railway and previously Southern West Coast Main Line services.
The rolling stock currently on this line is the only LNWR diesel trains in the form of ex London Underground District line D stock which are now converted to 2 carriage diesel trains. Previously class 150 and single carriage class 153 Sprinter units operated services.
The 3 letter station code for Millbrook is MLB.
The DfT category is F2.
The station is managed by London Northwestern Railway.
I visited Millbrook and filmed this video in March 2022.

There is another Millbrook station in Hampshire.

Beckton Park - Least Used DLR Station

The DLR (Docklands Light Railway) is the next line on the Tube Map that needs its least used station visited, and so we head to Zone 3 in east London, to the humble station of Beckton Park, strangely identical to Cyrpus - the next station up the line.

We also have a walk along the old railway line that is now the Beckton Corridor.

Here's the playlist with all the other stations in this series:

Rail / road safety - At level crossings, distraction kills, take care as you cross! 🇬🇧

Watch this film to understand how complacency and distractions at level crossings can lead to crisis.

Every day people cross level crossings. Trains can travel very fast (up to 125 m/h or 160 km/h) so it’s important that people pay attention and follow the instructions in front of them.

There’s a time and place to enjoy your ‘bubble’ – but the railway is not one of them. Lives can change in a split second. Distraction kills, Take care as you cross, wherever your attention wanders.

Please share this important safety message with your friends and family. Our international level crossing safety campaign ILCAD is engaging with people who live, work and play near pedestrian level crossings.

We thank NetworkRail for sharing this video with UIC for ILCAD 2021.
