A month ago, the largest expedition to the regions of Kazakhstan - #ulydalatravel came to its end. The expedition covered 6 routes from July 18 to September 29, 2018. The expedition participants got over more than 17,000 kilometers, visited 11 regions of Kazakhstan, 12 national nature parks and more than 130 travel locations.
Over 150 people participated in the exhibition, including professional guides, experienced travellers, journalists, travel bloggers, deputies, media personalities, the crew of Kazakh TV channel and the team of National Geographic Russia. As a result, new travel routes were formed, a photo and video bank about the country's natural objects was created, and information about their condition was updated.

Karaganda, the official name of Karagandy, is a city in Kazakhstan, the administrative center of the Karaganda region.
The name of the city comes from the low-growing shrub caragana with yellow flowers, colloquially often called yellow acacia, which is widespread in large quantities in the vicinity of the city.
In 1857, the Ivanovsky open-pit mine appeared on the territory of today's Karaganda - a coal mine. In 1931, the mining settlement of Karaganda was transformed into a workers' settlement, and since 1934 - a city. Karaganda received the status of a city on February 10, 1934. The city is located in the central part of Kazakhstan. It is a large industrial, scientific and cultural center.
The territory of the city akimat of Karaganda is 498 km², including 279 km² of the city of Karaganda itself; is the 5th city in Kazakhstan by population, having given up 2nd place after Alma-Ata in the early 2000s to Shymkent, the new capital Astana and the city of Aktobe. Administratively, the city is divided into two districts: Kazybek bi and Alikhan Bokeikhanov. Local government bodies are the city akimat and the city maslikhat.
In the Karaganda region, there are large coal mining enterprises, mechanical engineering, metalworking and food industry enterprises. The city has a large number of transport, education, science, culture and communications enterprises. Today, Karaganda is one of the largest industrial, economic, scientific and cultural centers of Kazakhstan.
The natural zone of Karaganda is the south of the dry steppe zone. The city is located on the territory of the Kazakh Uplands (Kazakh: Sary Arka yellow ridge) - a region in central Kazakhstan with characteristic low-mountain or hilly massifs.
Kazakhstan, Karaganda - Walking from the Local History Museum to the Miners' Palace of Culture
One day, while in Karaganda, I decided to buy some kind of a book about the city. And I assumed, that there could be no better place to look for such a thing than the Local History Museum. Well, I went there only to find out, that they don't sell anything at all. I was crushed by this discovery (and the time wasted), and in order to cheer myself up and to make something useful out of this predicament I decided to record a video. Well, here it is. Not a long video, and it ends in the location already visited by us, but it'll do. Because it's always better to have some Karaganda than no Karaganda at all.
0:00 - Start of the walk. We are standing in front of the Local History Museum. The exact address is Erubaev St, 38.
0:10 - One can always expect to see some balbals in a place like that.
1:03 - Local kids having fun in a fountain. This fountain is called The Dry Fountain, by the way. Probably, because it never works. We got lucky, I guess.
1:27 - Erubaev St is in front of us.
1:30 - A bench made of huge pencils. We've also encountered a similar bench in Astana ( but a little girl prevented us from taking a good look.
2:17 - Statue of Appak Bayzhanov, the discoverer of Karaganda Coal Basin.
3:19 - Corner of Erubaev St and Lobody St. He are going to head west on Lobody St.
6:15 - Musical Comedy Theater can be seen on the other side of the road.

Karaganda is city in Kazakhstan known for its coal mining and former gulag camps.
City was build when when first coal mines were found in the area and played an important role in Soviet coal industry.
I explored the city, including the outer parts of Karaganda. Next day even managed to get my way into one of local coal mines. What an adventure to remember it was!
