Top 10 Kenya Cities By Population
Kenya is a country located in East Africa. Here is an overview of Kenya's population history:
1. Early History: The territory that is now Kenya has been inhabited by various indigenous communities for thousands of years. These include the Kikuyu, Luo, Luhya, Maasai, and many other ethnic groups. Detailed population records from this early period are limited.
2. Colonial Era: In the late 19th century, Kenya came under British colonial rule. The British established settlements introduced infrastructure, and implemented economic policies that attracted migrants from other parts of the British Empire, particularly India, as well as Arab traders and European settlers. The population during this time was diverse and included indigenous communities and immigrant groups.
3. Independence and Post-Colonial Era: Kenya gained independence from British colonial rule on December 12, 1963. After independence, the country experienced population growth due to factors such as improved healthcare, urbanization, and increased agricultural productivity. The population growth rate has varied over the years, influenced by factors such as birth rates, mortality rates, and migration patterns.
4. Modern Population Growth: Kenya's population has been growing steadily in recent decades. According to the latest available data, as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the estimated population of Kenya was around 53.8 million people. The population growth has been driven by both natural increase (birth rate exceeding death rate) and significant rural-to-urban migration.
5. Urbanization: Kenya has experienced rapid urbanization, particularly in major cities like Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Nakuru. Urban areas have attracted people seeking employment opportunities, better education, and access to healthcare. The growth of cities has led to the development of infrastructure and the emergence of urban centers as economic hubs.
6. Ethnic Diversity: Kenya is known for its ethnic diversity, with numerous tribes and ethnic groups residing within its borders. The largest ethnic groups include the Kikuyu, Luo, Luhya, Kalenjin, Kamba, and Somali, among others. Each group has its own distinct cultural practices, languages, and traditions.
7. Challenges and Opportunities: Kenya faces various challenges related to population growth, including providing adequate healthcare, education, housing, and employment opportunities for its citizens. The government has implemented programs and policies aimed at addressing these challenges and fostering sustainable development.
Kamba Kenya's Ethnic tribe Homes
Kamba inhabit the regions of the Mbooni Hills (the place of the buffalo), in the Ukamba highlands.
The path of whose migration into Kenya can be traced with relative precision from the region of Mount Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania to their present homeland, Ukamba

Kenya: The Tribal Traditions Live On | African Renaissance | TRACKS
In Kenya, a state created barely a century ago, Afua Hirsch explores how the British spun an idealised stereotype while carving out a brutal empire. The country's tea industry is also significant, with tea plantations covering vast areas and contributing to Kenya's economy.

It is home to breathtaking landscapes, stunning lakes, and a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Kenya's Lake Nakuru and Lake Bogoria, known for their flamingo populations, are located within the Rift Valley.
