Dolmabahçe Palace (Turkish: Dolmabahçe Sarayı) is located in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, Turkey, on the European coast of the Bosporus strait. It served as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire from 1856 to 1887 and from 1909 to 1922 (Yıldız Palace was used in the interim period). The palace was ordered by the Empire’s 31st Sultan, Abdulmejid I, and built between the years 1843 and 1856. It boasts 258 rooms and 46 halls, offering visitors an extensive exploration of its majestic grandeur. The construction cost was five million Ottoman gold lira, equivalent to approximately $1.9 billion in today’s gold values. Italian artisans poured their hearts into the gardens, which burst with colors and fragrances, offering a tranquil escape from the palace’s ornate interiors. The palace’s corridors resonate with the footsteps of those who once graced its chambers, making it a vivid testament to Turkey’s rich heritage and the timeless elegance of the Ottoman Empire. If you’re ever in Istanbul, I highly recommend visiting this architectural masterpiece!

The Princes’ Islands are a cluster of 9 islands southeast of Istanbul in the Sea of Marmara. Mainly car-free, the islands are known for their horse-drawn carriages (phaetons). ISTANBUL2022 Kabataş-Üsküdar Bosphorus Ferry Boat(Vapur) 4K UHD
Ferry rides is a unique experience of Istanbul. The sea transportation of the city is mostly made by the Public Ferries (Sehir Hatlari in Turkish), and it is the most easiest, cheapest and the most pleasant way to travel up, down and across the Bosphorus. Below we put together useful information on how to take Bosphorus tour with public ferries, timetables, price info and advice.
ou’ll find ten main ferry docks to choose from and enjoy a Bosphorus tour. Ferry docks are situated in Karakoy, Kabatas, Besiktas and in Eminonu on the European side; Uskudar and Kadikoy on the Asian side.
There are total 48 piers and 22 public ferry lines along the Bosphorus. The lines are priced according to the distance travelled.
Istanbul’s Public Ferries has two main lines that include; Domestic Trips and Bosphorus Tours. They operate every 15-20 minutes until 23:00 pm.
Istanbul’s public ferries (inner city lines) are in high use with the locals. And we don’t recommend you take them for a Bosphorus sightseeing tour. You’ll face a huge crowd of locals at the piers, especially at the rush hours.
We recommend you take the Bosphorus tours lines of the Public ferries for sightseeing.
Domestic Trips
* This is not a proper Boshorus Cruise, it is the common sea transportation in between the districts of Istanbul and used with the locals.
* This can be an option for a quick cruise in the Bosphorus.
* Price vary from one way 5,48 TL to 8,60 TL according to the distance travelled.
Price List :
* You’ll need IstanbulKart to pay.

ISTANBUL 4K TRAVEL VIDEO TURKEY MAY 2024 HOLIDAY GOPRO HERO 10
Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey, straddling the Bosporus Strait, the boundary between Europe and Asia. It is considered the country's economic, cultural and historic capital. The city has a population of over 15 million residents, comprising 19% of the population of Turkey, and is the most populous city in Europe and the world's fifteenth-largest city.
The city was founded as Byzantium in the 7th century BCE by Greek settlers from Megara. In 330 CE, the Roman emperor Constantine the Great made it his imperial capital, renaming finally as Constantinople after himself. In 1930, the city's name was officially changed to Istanbul.
Miklagard was the Norse name of the city of Constantinople or Byzantium, now called Istanbul. Several Vikings visit Miklagard, and the city is therefore mentioned in several cities in the Norse sogs. The name is also found on rune stones. In the old church Hagia Sofia, who later became a mosque, you will find the rune inscription Halvdan was here scratched into the marble.
