Hazelbank Newtownabbey - Sunrise at County Antrim - NI
Experiencing the sunset at Hazelbank Newtownabbey was one of the most magnificent views we have ever witnessed and that was the main push behind taking a video of the phenomena to share it with the world here.
We have been sitting there for hours in order to witness this sunset phenomena but as much as we enjoyed those hours spent there, we were thrilled with the video we got out with at the end of the trip, this one which we have edited just for you.
Hazelbank park in Newtownabbey is considered one of the best parks there because of its location. This park is situated on the shores of Belfast Lough and thus offers different views for Belfast, Carrickfergus, and County Down. There are different things to be done in this park; one could walk through the passages and in between those trees, families could make picnics in summer and enjoy the good weather there, kids could enjoy playing around, and people could also enjoy the idea of watching the sunrise or sunset.
This park is considered a place for all the members of the family because it is designed to fit every single person; there is a playground area for kids, people could either walk or cycle, there are places designed for people with wheelchairs or else those who have pushchairs; it is the place for everyone, not just those who come to enjoy the beautiful sunset or video-graph it like us :-)!
County Antrim, where Hazelbank Newtownabbey is located, is one of six different counties that form Northern Ireland in general and it is also one of the thirty-two traditional counties in Ireland and part of the historic province of Ulster. The majority of Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, is found in county Antrim, but not all of it, which is the main reason why you might hear Belfast when county Down is mentioned. County Antrim is adjoined to the north east of Lough Neagh, the place where there are different beautiful scenes to be spotted.
Generally speaking, we are always expecting a change in the weather anytime during the whole year in Ireland, even if it was considered perfect when we first left our house. When we first headed to county Antrim, Hazelbank Newtownabbey, we were expecting a change in plans at any moment, but thanks to the weather, it all went well! lol!
We think there isn't anyone out there who might not enjoy the daily earth phenomenon which is the sunrise or the sunset and it has even been proved to be helpful when it is used as a method of therapy. This means that we did not only bring a magnificent scene from county Antrim to those who are thinking about paying a visit to this place, but we also helped those who might depend on sunset in order to heal themselves - using it as some kind of healing therapy; we win both ways ;-)!
Since part of Belfast is found in county Antrim, we would like to suggest some of the attractions found in this place that one could visit with his/her family and enjoy such a trip. Belfast Castle is the first destination in the place, it is a castle with a country park with a playground, visitor center, antiques shop, and a restaurant; so you will spend your trip without worrying about a thing (
In addition to the castle, you could also head to Belfast Zoo with your kids; they will enjoy coming to see all those animals and also get the chance to feed some of them, which is considered a different kind of experience for lots of kids.
You could also head to Cave Hill, which is a good place because it offers the visitors a view of Belfast city; this hill also forms the southeastern border of Antrim. You could take lots of beautiful pictures from up there; we always suggest those places of nature because they offer the most beautiful views at the end. In the same place there is also Cave Hill country park which you could head to after taking your pictures from up the hill; this place has several trails that lead past several caves, an ancient fort, as well as Belfast Castle (
Okay, we have already been to some of these attractions found in county Antrim which we are suggesting but there are still those on the waiting list. From the places which we have been to and which we were astonished by is the Knochagh Monument ( which is found on top of Knockagh Hill and which is a memorial of the war; you will see the monument in this place and then enjoy the scenery from up there, but there aren't any buildings to enter or check what they have from the inside (
There are lots and lots of places that one could visit in Northern Ireland but it then needs a lot of days to be spent there - Ireland is really beautiful and we are not even trying to be biased here but that's the truth :-) (

Spring has arrived. COVID-19 national lockdown has eased. Today is March 31st, 2021 and the weather is gorgeous. I decided to go for a walk at Newmillerdam lake and took this video on my way there.

Located on Bridge Street in the Laganside area of central Belfast, it is one of four stations in the city centre, the others being Great Victoria Street, City Hospital and Botanic.
