Gwadar & Jiwani | Day Trip Guide: What to See & Do
Taking a day trip from Gwadar to Jiwani at the Iran border is one of the most fun things you can do outside the city. In this video, we'll start our day in Balochistan at the oldest bazaar in Gwadar and do some shopping. Then we'll head out towards the Iran border to a secret beach in the village of Ganz, visit Victoria Hut (built for Queen Victoria), and the old WWII airstrip at Jiwani Airport. We'll also stalk some camels for fun, of course.

Jiwani
Jiwani is a town and commercial port that is located along the Gulf of Oman in the Gwadar District of the Balochistan province in Pakistan.
Jiwani is located near the Pakistani border with Iran.
Jiwani has a hot desert climate (Köppen climate classification BWh) with hot and humid but dry summers and warm winters.
Most rainfall falls in winter, although there is sometimes a little rain in the monsoon season (July–August) as well.
The town has a total population of 25,000 and is expected to become a major commercial centre in concert with the development of the port of Gwadar located nearly 80 kilometres (50 mi) to the east.
The area around the bay includes an important mangrove forest extending across the international border, and is an important habitat for a wide variety of wildlife, especially the endangered Olive Ridley and Green Turtles.
Plans to grant fishing concessions and offshore drilling rights are potentially a threat to the wildlife of the area.
The population largely depends upon fishing. There are a number of export oriented fish freezing plants located in Jiwani. Jiwani is 34 kilometres (21 mi) from the Iranian border.
Jiwani holds strategic importance in the region, located immediately adjacent to the shipping lanes to and from the Persian Gulf.
This is the main reason that the town hosts a small naval base and an airport with a 1,700-metre (5,500 ft.) runway.

Jiwani was used during World War II as an allied airfield and the remains of some airfields are still available. Another story linked to Jiwani is that Queen Victoria planned to visit the area to watch the sunset and a hut was built for her, which is now known as the Victoria Hut. Whether Queen Victoria visited or not, the Victoria Hut is still maintained by the Pakistan Coast Guards up to the present day. Visiting the accommodation area of the airfield base used during World War II in Jiwani reveals many handwritten small stories and names of allied pilots. There is a water system which is now abandoned for use but is a marvel of civil works for meeting water requirements of the station. It used to store rain water in three stages in order to clean the water using its usual flow. The water was then pumped to the airfield, and also up to the Victoria Hut, which is nearly 5 kilometres (3 mi) from the water tank system.
The Makran Coastal Highway now reaches Jiwani from Gwadar and also connects to Karachi.

Victoria Hut of Jiwani in Gwadar District Baluchistan | Queen Victoria | Balochistan Motorcycle Tour
This is a video about the historical city of Jiwani in Balochistan situated in the Gwadar district, It's the last major city near the Pakistan-Iran border. Jiwani boasts a rich heritage, with its airfield having served as a vital air base during World War II, with some remnants still standing.
One of its biggest draws is the breathtaking sunset, renowned worldwide, attracting visitors from afar. The iconic Victoria Hut adds to Jiwani's allure. Legend has it that Queen Victoria herself was so captivated by this sunset that she spent three nights here. The buzz around her visit led to the famous Victoria Hut, which still stands.
Contrary to this tale, some believe Queen Victoria never visited, and the hut was constructed in 1941 by the British Petroleum Company. It later changed hands, eventually becoming the property of the Coast Guard.
The hut's exterior is a distinctive green, and it sits slightly elevated from the ground. Inside, you'll find three rooms adorned with vintage furniture and adorned with pictures that narrate the history of Victoria Hut.

Gwadar is a deep sea port and strategically important city in the world due to CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor). This region was the part of Oman and added into Balochistan Province in 1958 when Former Prime Minister of Pakistan purchased this from Oman in $3M. Gwadar district is the part of Makran division and comprise of 3 Tehsils: Tehsil Jiwani, Tehsil Gwadar and Tehsil Pasni.
If we talk about some famous places of Gwadar then you will find out a lot of tourist attractions in Gwadar Port City enlisted below:
1. Hammerhead is the most unique and famous part of Gwadar where Koh-E-Batil is the highest point.
2. Gwadar Cricket Stadium is also very beautiful with greenery and scenic surroundings.
