10 Most Hated Towns in England
What are the most hated towns in England? No matter how good a country is, every part of it can’t be loved equally. In fact, some parts of it are bound to be hated. Even the most fanatic lover of a country will love some parts of it less than others. I have heard some people complaining about some towns in England, the home of the Queen that some people are dying to live and work in. That prompts research into the 10 most hated towns in England.
This ranking is based mainly on the comments and complaints of residents of England and visitors to those towns. But it’s not limited to that since some complaints can be completely baseless. We dig deeper in researching these 10 most hated towns in England.
10. Slough
Let’s begin with Slough, a town in Berkshire, within the historic county of Buckinghamshire. This town is 20 miles west of central London and 19 miles northeast of Reading. You will find the town in the Thames Valley and within the London metropolis around the area at the intersection of the M4.
In spite of its location, Slough according to those visitors, is a town whose streets are littered with empty takeaway and full of packets or empty beer cans. This assertion hasn’t been contradicted by even just one resident. The quality of food in the town’s restaurants appears, kind of, made for losers who’re just out to eat as much unhealthy food as they can get away with.
9. Scunthorpe
It’s not desirable to find Scunthorpe among the most hated towns in England. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to take it out of our list because the facts obviously place it there. This industrial town in the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire should normally be the pride of Lincolnshire as its main administrative center. But the town with an estimated population of 82,334 in 2016 had many things going against it.
Residents of the UK’s largest steel processing center, also known as the Industrial Garden Town, are frustrated by a lack of the liveliness and diversity in the town only known for work. However, the loudest grouse that lists Scunthorpe alongside the most hated towns in England is the indiscriminate censorship and blocking of websites for spurious reasons.

12 Most Haunted Places in Buckinghamshire
Would you want to know the 12 most haunted place in Buckinghamshire?
Britain has been named the most haunted country in the world. Even if that can be contested, there’s no gainsaying the fact that it has a lot of haunted places with tales of ghosts and spirits. However, some cities and towns have less of such places. We’ve produced a two-part video about the most haunted places in the UK. We have two other videos that focus on each city replete with such stories. Today, we want to focus on the 12 most haunted places in Buckinghamshire. We understand these places in Buckinghamshire aren’t among the most popular in the UK. Thus, as we discuss each of them, we’ll describe their location before explaining their features as haunted towns or villages.
1. Chenies Manor House, Chenies
Chenies Manor House is in the parish of Chenies in Buckinghamshire. It’s a Tudor Grade I listed building which was once known as Chenies Palace, though it was neither a royal seat nor the seat of a bishop. Since the 12th century, the manor house was held by the Cheney family and has successively passed by marriage to other families. The House which has 22 chimneys was visited by both King Henry VIII along with some of his wives and Queen Elizabeth I. It’s thought to be haunted by the ghost of one of the hundreds of soldiers killed in the area during the English Civil War. Visitors have been reporting catching a glimpse of the spirit nursing his wounds tragically or hearing him limping up and down the home's staircase.
2. Finnamore Wood, Marlow
We want to talk about a location in Marlow. In this town which is also a civil parish in Buckinghamshire, located on the River Thames, 6 kilometres south-southwest of High Wycombe, 8 kilometres west-northwest of Maidenhead, and 53 kilometres west of central London, there’s a haunted place called Finnamore Wood. It’s in one of the most rural areas of the town on the site of the former Evacuation Camp. It used to be known as Finnamore Wood Holiday & Evacuation Camp and housed evacuees from Beal Modern Girls' School and others displaced during the Second World War. In 1948, the wood housed members of the American Canoe team training at the Marlow Rowing Club for their Olympic Rowers.
3. Fulmer
Fulmer is a village and civil parish near the town of Gerrards Cross. It has along its northern border a narrow buffer from the town while it is heavily wooded, adjoining neighbouring villages of Wexham and Iver Heath. The most haunted place here is Fulmer Place, a Grade II listed mansion which was formerly the residence of Lord John Hay.

Iver Heath | Buckinghamshire | England
#iverheath #Buckinghamshire
Recorded on 19-Feb-2021 (just few minutes before uploaded)
Iver is a large civil parish in Buckinghamshire, England. In addition to the central clustered village, the parish includes the residential neighbourhoods of Iver Heath and Richings Park.
In the Domesday Book of 1086 the whole area was recorded as Evreham or homestead by the brow of a hill and it was in the possession of a man called Robert Doiley.
In 1351 the area was granted a Royal charter to hold a weekly market. This charter was confirmed 110 years later in 1461.
Iver
Iver village on the Uxbridge to Langley road has a pre-Domesday foundation and Neolithic pottery fragments and other artefacts have been discovered. The village church has shards of a Saxon window, and elements dating from the 15th century, 16th century and 17th century can be seen. The village has numerous houses from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Iver Heath is the location of Heatherden Hall, a Victorian estate with spectacular grounds. It was purchased by Lt. Col. Grant Morden, a Canadian financier, who transformed the mansion by adding a huge ballroom and Turkish bath. During the 1930s it became a retreat and private meeting place for politicians and diplomats. The agreement to form the Irish Free State was signed at Heatherden Hall. The Church of St Margaret was built in 1862. Iver Heath itself is centred on a triangle of roads. The village post office is on the Slough Road to the south, while a parade of shops used to be found along Church Road to the north. Slough Road and Church Road are connected by Bangors Road North to the east.

Welcome to our channel! We have made one or two changes over the last few weeks, we've dropped the 67 from our channel name leaving just the unowho (pronounced you know who), plus we have a new intro at the beginning of our vlogs...hope you enjoy!

In this first instalment, we visit Langley Park, near but not quite in Windsor itself, a beautiful place with so much wildlife, birds and stunning plants, it's a place definitely worth visiting. We also find the odd geocache too!

Harborne Railway Bridge Near Moor Pool Former Harborne Birmingham Branch Line
The Harborne Railway was a short standard gauge railway line constructed for residential travel from the Harborne area into the centre of Birmingham, England. The line opened in 1874, and was worked by the London and North Western Railway. As business developed, an increasingly frequent passenger service was operated, at its peak thirty trains each way daily.
In the 1920s and later it suffered from road bus service competition and it closed to passenger trains in 1934. A private siding connection had been made to Mitchells & Butlers Brewery, but the line closed completely in 1963. Harborne Station & Terminus has totally disappeared however Station Rd indicates its former location.
The Harborne Walkway is based on the Harborne Railway. That was a short railway branch line that connected the city centre of Birmingham, England with the outlying suburb of Harborne. The bridge that carried the railway over Park Hill road has survived, and now forms the start of the walkway. Most of the bridges that carried roads over the line (e.g. Woodbourne road, Hagley road) have also survived.
Harborne railway walk is only one and a half miles along the canal and across the park from Birmingham City Centre so it makes an ideal short family route or extension. If you arrive at Harborne railway bridge at the end of your walk why not visit the historic Moor Pool Estate.
Memorial Gardens Stoke Poges Walking Tour
The Memorial Gardens have been designed and maintained in a fashion for which there is no building, structures or monuments of any kind likely to remind one of a cemetery.
The parkland landscape which originally formed part of Stoke Park was laid out by Capability Brown and Repton. Much of the area survived until 1909 when the golf course opened.
Sir Noel Mobbs, Lord of the Manor of Stoke Poges, acquired the twenty acres of land to the south of the church in order to preserve the tranquil and rural setting of St Giles’ church, made famous by Gray’s poem ‘Elegy in a Country Churchyard’ and to have the land as a Memorial Garden, to be a ‘living memorial to the dead and of solace to the bereaved’. The gardens were opened on 25 May 1935 and their 80th anniversary was commemorated in 2015. The gardens are maintained and managed by South Bucks District Council.
The Memorial Gardens were designed by Edward White, a partner of Milner, White and Son, a leading landscape architect firm of the day. The Gardens were to contain no buildings nor monuments as in a cemetery, but were designed on a generous scale as a complete garden with small gardens and family plots. It was felt that the general appearance of the Gardens should offer satisfactory unity. There were and continue to be in excess of 500 individual family gated gardens. The gardens were refurbished in October 2001 with the contract focusing on the main structure and the formal parts of the gardens, including replanting using the limited plants used by Edward White in his gardens.

SLOUGH TO Uxbridge London [4K UHD 60p]
#uxbridge #Sough #London
Uxbridge is a suburban town in West London and the administrative headquarters of the London Borough of Hillingdon. Situated 15.4 miles (24.8 km) west-northwest of Charing Cross, it is one of the major metropolitan centres identified in the London Plan. Uxbridge historically formed part of the parish of Hillingdon in the county of Middlesex, and was a significant local commercial centre from an early time. As part of the suburban growth of London in the 20th century it expanded and increased in population, becoming a municipal borough in 1955, and has formed part of Greater London since 1965.
Slough is a large town in Berkshire, England (within the historic county of Buckinghamshire), 20 miles (32 km) west of central London and 19 miles (31 km) north-east of Reading. It is in the Thames Valley and within the London metropolitan area at the intersection of the M4, M40 and M25 motorways. Slough had a population of 164,000 in 2018.

The Secretive River Alderbourne - Part 2.
The Secretive River Alderbourne - Part 2.
Starting in Iver Heath Village Centre, we find a little steam which is a tributary of the River Alderbourne. After walking along an abandoned section of road we find the River Alderbourne near the M25.
The most unusual find of this video was a very low bridge on a public footpath which carries the M25 over the footpath and the River Colne Brook.
After almost crossing the River Colne in to Uxbridge, London Borough of Hillingdon we eventually finish up in the Colne Brook as the River Alderbourne confluence is on private land.

Lowndes Park, is located off St. Mary's Way (HP5 1HU) and is a major historic feature of Chesham that was largely donated to the town in 1953 by the Lowndes family. Today, the park spans 36 acres and is managed by the Council.
The lower park provides children’s play areas (including a play area for 2 to 13 year olds created in 2009), a multi-sports court, a skateboard park installed in 2014, the historic avenue (also a cycle route), public toilets and Skottowes pond. A series of free, open air concerts is staged in the bandstand area during July and August each year. The park is also the site of many town events, including charity fun runs and the annual Schools of Chesham Carnival. The upper park provides fantastic views across the town, excellent walking and its less formal management has created habitats for local wildlife. There is also an Scheduled Ancient Monument of mysterious origins known locally as the Rolling Pin.
