Hideaway Island Resort and Marine Sanctuary
The dive island just 20 minutes out of Port Vila, Vanuatu
Guest: My wife and I have been there before. It is amazing again!
On this years’ visit we have been astounded by the biodiversity, colours and the varieties of fish, crustacean and eels, etc.
We have swam the top of the reef over two weeks while there and are so pleased with the recovery evidenced everywhere and the extent of pristine coral at the ends where it is creating up from the depths to engulf about 80 metres of the reef top.
See you next year, if not before.
Mele Cascades, Vanuatu - Tour of Vanuatu’s Best Waterfall
I had an epic day at the Mele Cascades. It was one of the most impressive waterfalls I have seen in my life. Luckily one of the locals told me about the waterfall otherwise I probably would have left without seeing it. Later on, I enjoyed a latte at Tana Coffee where you can buy coffee sourced from Tana Island.

Port Vila, Vanuatu’s Best Shopping Centre? - Tana Russet Plaza
Today I do some grocery shopping at the Au Bon Marché Downtown. Then I check out the new Tana Russet Plaza where I get a French burger at the food court. I wrap up the day by having a romantic dinner while watching the sunset at the Reefers Restaurant & Rum Bar.

I hula-hooped at Ned’s Look-out. I also brought my hoop to the village to share with the children!
Mandy, Tree and I stayed in a two bedroom villa and Sue had a bungalow just in front of us. There is a pool, spa and we ate our meals in the fantastic restaurant. I loved the fresh coconuts at breakfast! Join us as we explore Vanuatu!

Tanna is where Capt. Cook first landed on the islands of Vanuatu . He named the beautiful little bay port resolution. Tanna also has one of the most accessible Volcano's in the world Mt. Yasur, that will be my next video. The people here live an idealic life with plenty of food , shelter and water all in a south pacific setting that most people would dream about.

The crystal blue freshwater at the Nanda Blue Hole is absolutely breathtaking. This natural beauty is only a 30min drive or taxi ride from Luganville town and 1000 Vatu per person entry. Cafe on site and lovely staff. You could easily relax here for a whole day.

If you have read the book “The Pickwick Papers” by Charles Dickens, then you will know all about the “Fat Boy” and can understand where Fatboys Resort got its name. Derived from the character “Joe” in the book, “fat boy” consumes great quantities of food and constantly falls asleep in any situation at any time of the day. The Fatboys life revolves around drinking, eating, sleeping and making every conceivable effort to avoid work.
That is the very essence of the Fatboys Resort, which is located on Babanga Island about 10 minutes boat ride from the airport and 15 minutes from Gizo, the provincial capital of the Western Solomons.
