TOWNSVILLE TO INNISFAIL | Qld Road Trip Ep05 | Cardwell Spa, Hinchinbrook Lookout & Paronella Park.
A slightly shorter video today driving further up north on the Queensland coast from Townsville to Innisfail. Only a couple of stops before heading inland through the outback.
It was a huge shame we couldn't swim in Cardwell spa, but I was glad to stop there, take a look and get some footage of it. Maybe next time I'm passing it will be a little better.

Innisfail, Far North Queensland - 4K Ambient Walk
Innisfail is a small town in Far North Queensland which was once known as Geraldton until about 1910. Whilst it only has a population of around 7,500, the town center was quite busy, making for a lively 4K walking tour.
The CBD's main streets are Edith Street and Rankin Street, and the town has the Johnstone Rivers running through it, all of which are seen in this 4K walking tour.
There is some old architecture and a few interesting sites. It's quite a unique old town which I feel will remain like it is for many years to come.

Innisfail in Queensland
Innisfail is a small town located in the Cassowary Coast Region, Queensland, Australia between Mission beach and Cairns and is a great place to visit. It’s primarily a sugar cane and banana town. It remains relatively untouched by the tourist boom and has the finest collection of Art Deco buildings anywhere in Australia. The town was originally called Geraldton but a Russian ship bound for Geraldton in Western Australia ended up at Geraldton in Queensland which led to the town being renamed Innisfail.

Our Tropical North Queensland adventures continues! We take you behind the scenes in episode 3 (part 1) of the 4 episodes we shot with @WUDUTV What's Up Down Under Trip of a Lifetime Series between Airlie Beach & Cairns. Paronella Park, Innisfail, Far North Queensland
Paronella Park was built in the 1930s by José Paronella (ca.1888 – 23 August 1948), a Spanish immigrant. Paronella arrived in nearby Innisfail, Queensland, Australia in 1913, having sailed from his homeland, Catalonia, in northern Spain to plan a life for himself and his fiancée Matilda.

Etty Bay is such a magical little beach that is so beautifully hidden. Surrounded by mountains and Tropical Rainforest Etty Bay feels like it is miles from any town yet is actually little over a 10min drive to Innisfail CBD and 1hr 30mins drive to Cairns.
Etty Bay is one of the best places to encounter the Southern Cassowary aswell, so if you are looking for somewhere to have a great holiday and encounter some of Tropical North Queensland's most majestic Native Wildlife than Etty Bay is a must for any traveller!

Drive Mission Beach & Cassowary Coast
mmerse yourself in the unique flora of Tropical North Queensland at the Cairns Botanic Gardens then continue your quest for nature and drive south to the aptly named Cassowary Coast, where you may just end up spotting one of these iconic birds yourself.
Waterhole hop your way from Cairns to Mission Beach, beginning with the crystal-clear Babinda Boulders in the southern Cairns region. Slide down a rainforest waterslide at Josephine Falls and marvel at this triple-tiered wonder from the various viewpoints. Take a well-worth 9km detour off the main road to Etty Bay, where you may spot one of the local cassowaries wandering along the beach.
If you’re too dry for your liking by the time you reach Mission Beach, drive via the El Arish Mission Beach Road and soak yourself in Lacey Creek. Or if you feel more like just wetting your whistle, pop by Murdering Point Winery to taste an assortment of wines, ports and liqueurs. With 3 beaches, 4 villages and Dunk Island just a stone’s throw from the shore, it’s well worth putting a few days aside to explore Mission Beach.
If the en route rainforest swims have you craving more, head further south to the bright blue queen of all swimming holes, the Cardwell Spa Pool. Whilst you drive your way to the ultimate gem, it’s well worth stopping at other points along the Cardwell Forest Drive, including the beautiful Attie Creek Falls.
