Our second day in Cuba took us across the island from Havana in the west, to Holguin in the east. Here were met up with our friends Anell and Steve who live in the area.
Holguin is a small city with an interesting history. It's located close to several resorts, and is a popular excursion for those looking to get a taste of the true Cuba outside the walls of the resort.
I had been here before as a resort goer, so I was excited to explore it at a more leisurely pace as we had several days in the area.
Holguin center square has some beautiful old buildings and statues. In teh background, you can see Hill of the Cross, or Loma de la Cruz, in Spanish. It is a mountain that overlooks the city, and the topic of the next video.
