Ancient forest, wild bison, traditional wooden architecture, a mixture of cultures and religions, rich nature, delicious Eastern cuisine... All this and much more can be found in Białowieża and its surroundings! Explore with us one of the wildest areas of Poland and Europe!
In this vlog we will show you what is worth visiting in Białowieża within three days, without having to use a car. We will tell you about our recommendations and places worth recommending. Get to know this unique place!

Białowieża is located in eastern Poland, right next to the border with Belarus. It is famous for its forest, which has not been changed by human and has been living its own life for centuries. We can see here what the natural forests that once covered the lowland areas of Europe looked like. The forest areas are protected, and it has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List as the only natural place in Poland.
The largest animals in Europe, the bison, live in the wild in the Białowieża Forest. At the beginning of the last century, these majestic animals were on the verge of extinction and were saved here. Today their population is approximately 1 000 individuals! Outside the Forest, you can meet them in the Bison Reserve, which we will also visit.
Due to its location in the east of the country, in Białowieża we experience the influence of Polish and Belarusian culture, as well as the Catholic and Orthodox religions. This combination can be seen in the delicious and natural cuisine of this region, which we highly recommend!
In Białowieża you will find several interesting monuments, including two beautiful wooden railway stations and palaces. The surroundings of the town are also interesting and it is worth renting a bike to get to know them better. We traveled through the nearby forest to see the mysterious Place of Power, which is believed to be a place of worship of pagan deities. There are many bicycle paths, they are well marked and the terrain is flat, so lovers of two wheels will find something for themselves here!
While in this region, it is also worth visiting Hajnówka, which is located about 20 kilometers from Białowieża. Long-distance trains from Warsaw and Białystok reach this town, so it is worth considering it as a stop during a trip to these areas. In Hajnówka you can take a ride on a narrow-gauge railway that goes through ancient forests and is an interesting experience of getting to know them from a different perspective. Moreover, there are Orthodox churches worth seeing in the town, for example the church of Holy Trinity with an unusual shape.

Hajnówka is a relatively young town located on the edge of the Białowieża Forest. It is also a place that within the space of the last ten years has diametrically changed its appearance -- it has gained a new road network, new recreational-sports infrastructure as well as a chance to become a tourist destination. Numerous investments co-financed by the EU funds had an impact on improving of the image of Hajnówka. Location of the town close to the border with Belarus and attractive investment areas waiting for an investor open a prospect for its economic development.

У самім горадзе Гайнаўка этнічных беларусаў каля 27% ад агульнага насельніцтва, а вось у некаторых навакольных вёсках гэты паказчык даходзіць да 82%. Некалькі дзясяткаў тысяч людзей, сярод тых, што пражываюць у гэтых мясцінах, валодаюць беларускай мовай і, у той ці іншай ступені, выкарыстоўваюць яе ў паўсядзённым жыцці. Беларуская мова таксама выкладаецца тут у многіх школах. У наваколлі горада Гайнаўка на дарожных знаках інфармацыя часам дублюецца на польскай і беларускай мовах, а праваслаўных цэркваў тут больш чым каталіцкіх касцёлаў. Пры гэтым каля 70% вернікаў тут з'яўляюцца праваслаўнымі. Ну і нарэшце, менавіта ў горадзе Гайнаўка размешчаны дастаткова буйны музей беларускай культуры і побыту з вельмі багатай экспазіцыяй. Музей і асяродак беларускай культуры ў горадзе Гайнаўка створаны па ініцыятыве беларускай нацыянальнай меншасці ў Польшчы. Будаўніцтва музея і асяродка доўжылася амаль трыццаць гадоў (працы былі распачатыя ў 1983 годзе). Музей і асяродак беларускай культуры ў горадзе Гайнаўка створаны сумеснымі намаганнямі розных кампаній, устаноў, прыватных асобаў і ўрада Беларусі. Białowieża is known to be a refugee for European Bison/Wisent and you can find this majestic animal both in the wilderness as well as in the European Bison Show Reserve where we went.
Białowieża National Park is a National Park in Podlaskie Voivodeship, in Eastern Poland adjacent with the border with Belarus.
It is famous for having a old-growth forest, animals, delicious Eastern European food (mix of Ukrainian, Belarus and Polish food), old orthodox churches and peace and calm.

Thousands of years ago most Europe was covered by dense forests. But continuous development has transformed those forests into concrete jungles.
Today, the only remaining major primeval forest is preserved in the border regions of Poland and Belarus.
It is known as Bialowieza.
The forest has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
