SAINT BARTH: The TOP Sights of ST BARTS on a DAY TRIP from Saint Martin
Welcome to the luxurious island of Saint Barthélemy! THIS is the ultimate guide for everyone who is planning to make a ONE DAY trip to this French Caribbean Island from Saint Martin. This Caribbean island was discovered by the larger public in the sixties, when the big yachts came from all over the world with Hollywood stars and millionaires. Next to the incredible fortified harbor town of Gustavia there are several white bounty beaches and amazing underwater life. You can easily see the top sights in a couple of days, or like us, even make a day trip from the neighboring island Saint Martin. With our little family we sail the Caribbean Sea and walk from Gustavia to the best beach called Saint Jean. We see some uninhabited outlying islands too and fly the drone over Gustavia and the beaches. The privet airplanes fly closely over our heads, which is spectacular to watch.
In the last videos you saw us in Anguilla and Saint Martin. We rented a car to drive to Oyster Bay, Orient Bay, Philipsburg, Great Bay, the Great Salt Pond, Harold Jack’s viewpoint, Maho Beach, Mullet Bay Beach, Pic Paradis and Anse Marcel. Then we drove to the pier in Philipsburg to hopped on board a catamaran of Boomerang Boat Charters. It took us to the prettiest beaches in Anguilla, where we also saw the amazing underwater life. We snorkeled with remora fish and sea turtles. Now we explore St. Barth, so join us on this epic beach adventure!
This video is part of a series along all the Caribbean islands from North to South and we started in the Dominican Republic. Previously, you could see the start of our travels: road tripping the DR. We saw the best beaches, mountains, lush green jungle, waterfalls, salt lakes, vibrant culture and beautiful colonial towns. It was really worth it to escape the luxurious hotels and explore the country. Next, our little family flew to Puerto Rico and did a similar trip. We explored the UNESCO World Heritage of Old San Juan, hiked through the jungle in El Yunque and sailed to the Spanish Virgin Islands in Culebra. After this episode, stay with us as we continue to Saint Barth, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Antigua, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Tobago and the Bahamas.

Gustavia is the main town, port and capital of the posh #caribbean island of Saint Barthélemy aka St Barts aka St Barths - top amazing luxury travel destination; St Barths is known for its white-sand beaches, chic hotels and designer shops. Gustavia, encircling a yacht-filled harbour, combines high-end dining with historical attractions like The Wall House, whose exhibits highlight the island Swedish colonial era. Perched above the town is 17th-century Fort Karl, offering views of popular Shell Beach.
While it is acceptable to wild swim and walk topless or even nude on many beaches, it is never acceptable to walk in town in a swimsuit. One needs to cover up with a stylish sundress or equivalent. A simple t-shirt won't do. This is all part of the laid-back and casual chic ethos of the place.
St. Barths ranks among the most expensive getaways on the planet. The island caters to an upscale clientele who can afford things like $20,000-a-night stays in posh villas. The story of how St. Barths became the so-called St. Moritz of the Caribbean goes back to the mid-1950s, when the über-wealthy families discovered the centuries-old charm of the island's British-Swedish-French colonial heritage. Couple that with a laid-back ambiance, friendly locals and (at the time) cheap land, and this was just the spot to build million-dollar estates overlooking St. Bart's virgin beaches.
