Gorur Dam - Must Visit Attractions in Hassan | Hemavati Dam | Hemavati River | Karnataka #Shorts
A dam has been constructed across Hemavati River, an important tributary of the Kaveri. The dam is located at Gorur, near Hassan in Karnataka. Built in 1979, the reservoir has been providing water for drinking and irrigation purposes for the people of Hassan district. Hemavati Dam is very vast and covers a catchment area of 2,810 sq. km. This dam is 4,692 m long and 58.5 m high. The gross storage capacity of this dam is 1,050.63 mcm. The reservoir has six large radial spillway gates.
Hemavati dam presents a beautiful look to the visitors, especially during rainy season, when the spillway gates are opened to release the flooding waters that gush out like froth. A garden covered with a green lawn right next to the dam enhances the beauty of the atmosphere as well as the location. The garden is often visited by local people. A visit to the dam in the early hours of the morning is highly gracious, pleasant and inspiring. Various water birds keep flying and diving into the waters. The temples of Sri Paravasudeva and Sri Yoganarasimha are very close to the dam and are popular tourist destinations. The best time to visit Hemavati reservoir is the period between October and March.

আমি নিজেই আগে ভ্লগ করে এসেছি এমন রেষ্টুরেন্টে ইদানিং খেতে গিয়ে বাজে অভিজ্ঞতা নিয়ে এসেছি। অনেক রেষ্টুরেন্ট একটু নামি-দামি হয়ে গেলে হয় তারা খাবারের মান, সার্ভিস খারাপ করে ফেলে না হয় তাদের শেফকে অন্য কেউ হায়ার করে নিয়ে যায়। আমি একটা ভ্লগ করে এসেছি তার অর্থ এই না যে সারাজীবন ঐ রেষ্টুরেন্টের খাবারের মান আর সার্ভিস এর গ্যারান্টি দিচ্ছি। আমি শুধুমাত্র কোথায় কোন খাবার কিভাবে দিচ্ছে আর তা আমার কাছে ব্যক্তিগত ভাবে কেমন লেগেছে তা নিয়ে ভিডিও করছি।
আপনারা কোথায় যাবেন বা যাবেন না সেটা অবশ্যই আপনার বুঝ বুদ্ধি দিয়ে বিচার করেই যাবেন। খাবার বা সার্ভিস খারাপ হলে তার দায়ভার আমার না।
কোথাও গিয়ে খাবার খেয়ে ভাল না লাগলে প্রতিবাদ করুন, করতে হবে।

Chennakesava Temple
Belur`s main shrine, the Chennakesava temple is one of the finest specimens of Hoysala architecture. Commissioned by Hoysala King Vishnuvardhana in 1117 AD, the temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, took 103 years to complete this temple. The temple commemorates the victory of Hoysala power over the Cholas in the great battle of Talakad. The temple is intricately carved with sculptures, friezes & pillars.

102 km away from Sravanabelagola is Halebid which was the ancient capital of the Hoysala Empire. However after its ruin, the Hoysalas then shifted their capital to Belur. The intricately carved Hoysaleswara temple in Halebid is famous for its profusion of pillars.
Gorur (61 km)
23 km from Hassan Gorur is attracts picnickers for Hemavathi Reservoir created as a result of dam built on the river of the same name. The place is also famous for the shrines of Yoganarasimha and Paravasudeva.
Shravanabelagola(86 km)
Located in the Hassan district, it is a very sacred place for Jainism. The gigantic statue of Gommateshvara Bahubali is a real wonder.
