Visiting Gniezno - What is worth seeing?

► The Royal Route ◄
In order to make it easier for tourists to visit Gniezno, the authorities have created a new tourist route, the Royal Route. The trail is an ideal walking route along which the main attractions in the center and the newly created sculptures are located. We will meet 15 sculptures of rabbits, 5 sculptures of Polish rulers who were crowned in Gniezno, 4 models of the city and 2 legends referring to legends. It is best to start the route from the train station, where the first sculpture of King Przemysł II is located.

► Gniezno Cathedral and Doors ◄
On the historic Lech Hill, there is the most valuable monument of Gniezno, the Gothic Gniezno Cathedral. In 970, Mieszko I built the first church here, and in 1000 the body of the martyr St. Wojciech. The greatest attraction of the cathedral is the historic Gniezno Door. This work of nameless medieval masters presents scenes from the life of Saint Adalbert, who became the first patron of Poland.

► Engine house ◄
There is also a historic Steam Locomotive Shed near the city center, which the members of the Gniezno Association of Railway Enthusiasts are trying to bring back to life.

While visiting the locomotive shed, we can learn a lot about railway work, equipment, how the locomotives were refueled or repaired, as well as see with our own eyes the operation of the turntable, thanks to which it was possible to turn the huge car 180 degrees. The tour is full of funny anecdotes and the guide is a real passionate. The locomotive shed gives the impression of being abandoned, which gives it a slightly post-apocalyptic atmosphere.

► Dobry Browar ◄
At the end of your visit to Gniezno, it is worth visiting a local brewery run by enthusiasts. You can not only drink a very good beer here, but also see the brewing process with your own eyes, which takes place on the spot from start to finish. Going down to the bathroom, on the way we pass a glass wall, behind which you can see a working fermentation room. Interestingly, the taps at the bar are connected directly to the tanks located in the fermentation room.

► Museum of the Origins of the Polish State ◄
Permanent exhibitions await you at the Museum:
✔ The beginnings of the Polish state
✔ Piast painted going on
✔ Romanesque art in Poland
✔ Gniezno ceramics
✔ Gniezno. Hence the past and several temporary exhibitions.

I invite you to visit Gniezno
