Road Trip to Girard Ridge Lookout
Scenes from a weekend trip to Girard Ridge Lookout in Northern California. Once used as a fire tower lookout, nowadays the National Forest Service rents the property by the night (think car camping, but without setting up a tent). To score a weekend reservation, we had to book six months in advance. It was well worth the wait and the four-hour drive from the Bay Area to enjoy distant views of Mount Shasta and Castle Crags State park. The final scenes show Heart Lake and Castle Lake, which is farther north but an easy drive from the lookout. The video includes footage from a GoPro HERO 3+ Black Edition, Nikon D7000, and an iPhone 5s.

This video is a virtual tour of our part of town. I speak mainly about how wasteful and poorly engineered the roads are. Why are the politicians investing so heavily into war activities, when the real things that endanger our lives are the very roads we drive on, the pipes under our streets that are hundred + years old in most locations? It's time for our government to start engineering for the conditions of the environment instead of just paving the roads. Build pipes to allow natural springs to flow underneith roads for example. Common sense engineering.

The Alamo- Free
The Battle of the Alamo (February 23 – March 6, 1836) was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. Following a 13-day siege, Mexican troops under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna launched an assault on the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar (modern-day San Antonio, Texas, United States), killing all of the Texian defenders. Santa Anna's cruelty during the battle inspired many Texians—both Texas settlers and adventurers from the United States—to join the Texian Army. Buoyed by a desire for revenge, the Texians defeated the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto, on April 21, 1836, ending the revolution.
