This is the day trip from Seoul that you must do! Nami Island, Petite France, Gangchong Rail Bike Park and if you have more time visit Garden of Morning Calm in the same area.
It's not my first time here, but my friend has never been to this spot before, so decided I should bring them here. When I first went with Helmi, I realised how difficult it is to get to Nami Island and surrounding because they are not super close to each other. We were lucky enough to found a guided tour that seems efficient on Pelago - a travel experience website by Singapore Airline.

First we took the bus from Namsan Yejang Park, where we stopped by Petite France (쁘띠프랑스) where we have a man made Italian and French Village, plenty of photo and video spot opportunities. This also part of K-Drama shooting place too! Our second stop was Nami Island (남이섬), where we took the boat over to the island. The tour includes the return ferry ticket but does not include lunch. Nami Island is the shooting place for Winter Sonata, famous Korean drama series. Then, we went to Gangchon Rail Bike / 강촌레일파크 (Gimyujeong Railbike / 김유정레일바이크) which was super fun! I truly think it is worth it to take day trip tour from Seoul to these places because if you try to hit all these places with public transport, it will take couple of hours on the road.
I hope this video can showcase how fun this trip can be, so if you are wondering what to do in Seoul, what to eat in Seoul - I hope this video can shed some ideas and inspirations.

Glamping with Friends in Gapyeong, South Korea: Summer
Hi everybody!
Over the weekend, my friends Kiki, Kayla, and Jeannie all came to Gapyeong with me to take a break from the city.
I wanted to come to this specific glamping site because it’s best in the hot season with the swimming pool and shower inside the tent!
It’s actually monsoon season, so it wasn’t too hot, but it was still refreshing to go in the pool. Since it’s been rainy these days, the stream was too dangerous to go in.
The hosts remembered me from last year and were extra kind to all of us girls alone! They invited us to eat and drink, and took care of starting our bonfire and bbq grill. They even gave us watermelon and did our trash for us. They were so kind, it’s a memory we will all cherish forever.
After that, we visited Rose! It’s one of my favorite hidden gems of Gapyeong. It’s totally Studio Ghibli vibes, with the smell of brown sugar immediately as you walk in, with a garden theme indoors and outdoors. The owner remembered me from last year too and I teared up! She gave me a gift and was very thankful I shared her cafe. But I’m thankful for HER!
Then before heading back to Seoul, we took a stop at the Italian Village: Pinocchio & Da Vinci. It’s a new park next to Petite France that opened in May 2021. It was a nice little stop to take photos and explore exhibitions.
Gapyeong is always such a nice visit and I highly recommend it. Glamping is also the best in the summer and winter time! It’s the best all year round, if you’re not into traditional camping. It’s very cool to be inside a big tent that mimics a real building!

We went to Nami Island and enjoy the beauty of the park. With our comfortable transportation and friendly driver and guide, we had fun in the island. While we are in our transportation we got a lot of interesting story on the places from our professional tour guide. To get to Nami Island, you will have to ride on mini ferry from Gapyeong Wharf to Nami wharf. You will be on ferry about 5 minutes and after that you are in Nami Island. A lot of movie and kdrama director chose this island as their shooting location, you can imagine the beauty of nature in Nami Island. We remember that there is this spot where Winter Sonata was shoot.
As Claire said, the best day ever. Thank you Sour and Sail travel and tours for arranging our trip. There is so much things to do...
It was also fun in Gapyeong, we got to ride a rail bike. We really enjoyed it (We don't know with our parents who pedal the bike lol!). In there, we saw a lot of nice view, we crossed the river, the road or even mountain... huh?! Isn't that tiring? But it is worth it.
In Dongdaemun, we bought pasalubong and other souvenir items like chopsticks, candies and etc. We also bought this hat that ears went up whenever you squish the pumpingball that is connected to the hat.
We guaranteed that this trip is full packed!!!
