9 things to do in Great Falls, Montana with kids - Lewis and Clark etc
We headed up to Great Falls, MT for several reasons. 1. Finn wanted to go to the Tae-Kwon-Do tournament. 2. We wanted to visit some online friends. 3. Melynda organized homeschool activities at the C. M. Russel museum and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. 4. We HAD to go to the Sip-N-Dip Lounge and its famous mermaids. Of course there's a ton of other things to do in Great Falls. We saw a couple of other museums, some state parks, breweries, and bike rides and more. Check more in Melynda's blog.

More about Great Falls, MT from Wikipedia:
Great Falls is a city in and the county seat of Cascade County, Montana, United States. The 2017 census estimate put the population at 58,638. The population was 58,505 at the 2010 census. It is the principal city of the Great Falls, Montana Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Cascade County and has a population of 82,278. Great Falls was the largest city in Montana from 1950 to 1970, when Billings surpassed it. Great Falls remained the second largest city in Montana until 2000, when it was passed by Missoula. Since then Great Falls has been the third largest city in the state.
Great Falls takes its name from the series of five waterfalls in close proximity along the upper Missouri River basin that the Lewis and Clark Expedition had to portage around over a ten-mile stretch; the effort required 31 days of arduous labor during the westward leg of their 1805–06 exploration of the Louisiana Purchase and to the Pacific Northwest Coast of the Oregon Country. Each falls sports a hydroelectric dam today, hence Great Falls is nicknamed the Electric City. Currently there are two undeveloped parts of their portage route; these are included within the Great Falls Portage, a National Historic Landmark.
The city is home to the C. M. Russell Museum Complex, the University of Providence, Great Falls College Montana State University, Giant Springs, the Roe River (claimed to be the world's shortest river), the Montana School for the Deaf and the Blind, the Great Falls Voyagers minor league baseball team, and is adjacent to Malmstrom Air Force Base. The local newspaper is the Great Falls Tribune.

Stop by a visitor’s center first to learn about the area and how to stay safe and optimize your experience. There are several to choose from, including the Ernest S. Cove Center at the Homestead entrance, the Flamingo Center in the middle, and the historic Royal Palm Center.
One of the best ways to experience as much of the natural beauty of the Everglades as possible in one trip is to follow a trail. The Anhinga Trail, Pa-Hay-Okee Trail, and Mahogany Hammock Trail are a few of the best.
The best things to do in the Everglades are areas that are perfect for wildlife viewing, birdwatching, and relaxing. These include Ten Thousand Islands, Shark Valley, and Nine Mile or Paurotis Pond.
The historic significance of the area can’t be forgotten, and it’s preserved in several important spots that are also some of the best things to do in the Everglades. The Museum of the Everglades captures its history, the H69 Nike Missile Base shows its impact on the Cold War, and Clyde Butcher’s photograph gallery preserves its natural beauty.
A few of the buildings in the Everglades are as unique as they are historically significant. You won’t find an experience like shopping at the Smallwood Store or mailing a letter from the smallest post office in the US anywhere else.
You can even get plenty of delicious treats to eat once you’re done trudging through the swamps. Triad Seafood offers the snow crabs that the area is known for, Gator Grill offers more local cuisine such as gator meat and frog legs, and Robert is Here has delicious milkshakes and smoothies.
Like and subscribe to ViewCation for more on how to go through all the climates that the national parks offer, from swamps to glaciers and everything in between. Watch our video to learn about the best things to do in the Everglades.

Our Outdoor Adventure at Fort Dix: A Camping Trip to Remember
Unplugged and Unforgettable: Our Time at Willow Pond RV Campground
Our recent camping trip to Fort Dix turned out to be an adventure filled with memories we'll cherish for years to come. As lovers of the great outdoors, we opted for a more rustic camping experience at the Willow Pond RV Campground, which, while not the epitome of glamping, offered us a perfect balance of comfort and wilderness immersion.
Surrounded by the tranquility of nature, we embraced the simplicity of life without sacrificing the basic amenities. The burst of excitement and perplexity as we explored the campground's natural charms was unparalleled.
A Thrill Seeker's Paradise: Our Visit to Six Flags Great Adventure
Our proximity to Six Flags Great Adventure elevated the thrill of our trip to a whole new level. The rush of adrenaline as we rode the exhilarating roller coasters and experienced the enchanting atmosphere of the theme park was a burst of pure delight.
An All-American Experience: Our Day at the Phillies Game
Attending a Phillies game during our stay added a touch of classic American pastime to our outdoor escapade. The energy of the stadium, the aroma of ballpark food, and the sounds of the crowd formed an unforgettable experience, creating a burst of excitement that echoed the spirit of the game.
In conclusion, our camping trip to Fort Dix and the adventures it held will forever be etched in our memories. It was a perfect blend of outdoor charm, thrilling escapades, and all-American pastimes that left us with a delightful burst of joy.
We can't wait to plan our next outdoor adventure and create more unforgettable memories in the embrace of nature.

Get Your Kids Outside: 5 Exciting Texas State Parks to Explore
Get Your Kids Outside: 5 Exciting Texas State Parks to Explore
Texas has some of the best state parks to visit in the United States. The landscape changes so much from one area to the other, that you will find lakes, woodland, marshes, canyons, and sand dunes. This is a list of exciting Texas state parks for kids.
What to know before you visit Texas State Parks
Currently, Texas state parks are open for day use, and limited overnight camping. Visitors to the state parks must wear masks and practice safe social distancing. Hiking groups are limited to ten people or less (unless they are all related).
How to Find the Best Hiking Trails at Each Park
We are huge fans of the AllTrails app. Download it to your phone and it will tell you everything from the best hiking trails nearby, to the number of trails at each park, a trail map, dog friendly hikes, and even share reviews of each trail. It is an invaluable tool when planning a hike with kids.
Finally, you must reserve a day pass ahead of time, even if you have a Texas Parks pass. Passes are available as timed entry or regular entry, and are available for print or mobile use. Please note that some park services may be limited, so be sure and check the Texas parks website prior to heading out.
