About Asuncion: Club Fernando de la Mora is an association football club from the city of Asunción, Paraguay. The team got promoted to the first division of the Liga Paraguaya in 2005 by being the runner-up of the second division league (Intermedia) but got immediately relegated back to the second division by finishing last in the point average in the 2006 season. // Estadio Emiliano Ghezzi is a multi-use stadium in the neighborhood of Vista Alegre in Asunción, Paraguay. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Club Fernando de la Mora. The stadium holds 8,000 people. /// Club Fernando de la Mora es un club de fútbol de Paraguay, del barrio Vista Alegre de la ciudad de Asunción. Fue fundado en 1925 y milita en la Segunda División de Paraguay. Se encuentra específicamente en el barrio Pettirossi, aunque debido a su expansión, también cubre parte de los barrios San Roque, Ciudad Nueva y Pinozá.
La solicitud al Ministerio del Interior por parte de la Municipalidad de la Ciudad de Asunción de un predio para trasladar a los trabajadores del Mercado Guasu tuvo su curso a inicios de los 40s, el nombrado Mercado Guasu estaba ubicado en la actual Plaza de la Democracia, recién en mayo de 1942 se llevó a cabo el traslado del mismo.
En 1943, cuando el general Higinio Morínigo gobernaba el país, a través de un decreto fueron expropiados algunos terrenos baldíos y se produjo el traslado, primeramente a la zona de la Avda. Rodríguez de Francia, luego se fue expandiendo sobre las calles Perú y Pettirossi.
