What's Countryside LIVING in ARGENTINA Really Like? 🇦🇷 | 10 Ways Rural Life is Different! 🐗🌿
Country living in Argentina is different from what we're used to, so I thought it would be fun to sit down and chat about some of the differences we've noticed and how we're adapting to rural life.
These are some of our first impressions having recently arrived from Canada. No, it's not our first time in Argentina - far from it! But these are the things we tend to notice during our first weeks whenever we're back here.
How is rural life in Argentina different, you ask?
Well, if we want water in the house we have to pump it from the well to a tank on top of the house. If we want to go into town we have to hitchhike or make sure we catch a very infrequent bus. And because there's no garbage collection system, we have to deal with our own trash and try to recycle and produce as little waste as possible.
Things like that, which are very different from city life back in Canada.
So join us for a little chat about what countryside living in Argentina is really like.
Long story short, we're adapting and having a great time even if there's a bit more work involved!

[S2 - Eps. 10] Incredible WILDLIFE in ARGENTINA!
I'm still waiting in Viedma for my new number plate, so today Im exploring the area. First I'm visiting the largest breeding site of the endangered burrowing parakeet.
These thousands of beautiful birds make a lot of noise but seeing them flying around the cliffs in big flocks was a sight I won't easily forget!
After the visit to the parakeets, I'm also checking out a 6000 animal large sea lion colony, and these animals also produce quite the sound! I ride back to Viedma via a dirt road and the vast and open landscapes of Argentina still don't bore me!

We were visiting Esquel during low season, so there was only one daily bus with Transportes Esquel leavening in the early morning and returning in the evening. We made sure to arrive at the bus terminal 1 hour ahead of departure to make sure we could get seats on the bus since you can’t reserve tickets ahead of time and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
One of the coolest parts of the boat ride was seeing the Torrecillas Glacier. If you’re up for a serious trek, there are excursions in Los Alerces National Park that take you right to the foot of the glacier.
After cruising on the north end of Lake Menendez, we reached the Alerzal Milenario, where we disembarked and continued the rest of the excursion on foot.
The trees that we had come to see are the ‘Alerces patagónicos’ also known as lahuán. This is a type of tree that can be found in the Valdivian temperate rain forest below the higher elevations of the Andes in both Argentina and Chile. These trees can grow from sea level up to 1,500 (fifteen hundred) meters above sea level, and though they are slow-growth trees, they can reach heights of above 50 meters.
And that was our excursion to Los Alerces National Park in search of two-thousand-year-old trees! We hope you guys enjoyed this trip and we’ll see you soon with more videos from Patagonia.

Is this the MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE in Patagonia? | Visiting Los Alerces National Park in Argentina 😍
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.
