Atyrau Bridge in Nur Sultan (or Astana) in Kazakhstan. Bridge that looks like a fish in Kazakhstan (Atyrau Bridge) in Nur Sultan. Let's go to the capital city of Nur Sultan in Kazakhstan and let's visit the newest pedestrian bridge (Atyrau Bridge) which was opened in July 2018 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the capital moving from the city of Almaty to Astana (which is now called Nur Sultan). Atyrau Bridge is a gift from the Atyrau district of Kazakhstan, thus its name. Atyrau Bridge provides communication between pedestrian flows and the bicycle network of the park zone (on the left) and the embankment (on the right) banks of the Yesil River.
The outer shell of the bridge resembles fish scales — the symbol of the Atyrau region; the decorative structure of the bridge consists of 2,450 aluminum petals, each of them has a unique shape. When you go inside, you will feel as if you are inside a big fish.
The total length of the pedestrian bridge is 313.5 meters, width - 10.5 meters. The construction includes a six-meter pedestrian lane, a three-meter bike path, and its total construction weight is 1,920 tons. On both sides of the bridge, on each embankment of the river, metal poles were installed with the inscription “Atyrau kopіrі” (“Atyrau Bridge”).

Ishim River is a beautiful place to unwind, relax and be with nature. We particularly love the view and weather here especially during summer and autumn. We ride our bikes going to this river and it is more beautiful with the sunset at the background. The river starts to get frozen from November so we get to visit the place again but to enjoy some winter activities.
The Ishim is a river running through Kazakhstan and Russia. It is 2,450 kilometres long, and has a drainage basin of 177,000 square kilometres.

Kazakhstan, a Central Asian country and former Soviet republic, extends from the Caspian Sea in the west to the Altai Mountains at its eastern border with China and Russia.
Astana is the capital city of Kazakhstan, straddling the Ishim River in the north of the country. Along the left bank, the ultramodern, 97m-tall Bayterek tower offers panoramic views from its observation deck. The Ak Orda Presidential Palace is topped with a massive blue-and-gold dome. The giant, tent-like Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center houses a shopping mall and indoor beach resort.
We visited Kazakhstan in September 2017 and stayed at the Hotel Grand Park Esil in Astana. We explored Astana on the hop-on-hop-off sightseeing bus. We enjoyed admiring the modern architecture and visited The National Museum of Kazakhstan, Hazrat Sultan Mosque, Presidential Palace, Khan Shatyr shopping mall, including the Sky Beach Club, an indoor temperature-controlled beach resort at the top of the dome, and Bayterek tower.
The Ishim River: A Lifeline of Kazakhstan
Ishim is a river in Kazakhstan and Russia, the left and longest tributary of the Irtysh. Its length is 2,450 km, the catchment area is 177,000 km².
It begins in the Niyaz gorge in the Kazakh uplands and flows from east to west for 775 km, taking a number of large tributaries flowing from the Kokchetav upland and the spurs of the Ulutau mountains. In the upper reaches, it flows to the northwest and west in a narrow valley and rocky banks.

Mangilik El Avenue is an approximately 8.9 km long avenue located in the southeastern part of the city. Until 2016, it was called Orynbor Street. It begins at the intersection with Mukagali Makataev Street near the Maral Bridge and ends at the intersection with Kabanbay Batyr Avenue. It is an asphalt-paved six-lane road with two-way traffic and a single carriageway. Closer to the end, it divides into two carriageways.
Among the socially significant buildings are the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Government of Kazakhstan, the Central Concert Hall, the city polyclinic, schools-gymnasiums, kindergartens, the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the Police Department, the Hospital of the Medical Center of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Astana IT University.
Landmarks include the Green Belt Forest of Astana, the Nur Alem Museum, the Independence Stele, the Triumphal Arch, and Jetisy Park. At the beginning of the avenue flows the Esil River, and at the end is the Nura-Esil Canal. The development is mixed, with both multi-story and single-story buildings.
Bus routes of public transport run along the avenue. Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport is at the end of the avenue, about 5 km away.

Taraz has more than 2000 years of history and once it was a prosepring city on Silk Road. The first reference historically recorded city linked with Taraz and the basis for the claim of 2000-year-old history is the fortress of Zhizhi that briefly existed at the site of modern-day Taraz in the 1st century BCE and is known to have existed until its decline in the 13th century. The city started to assume its present form when Colonel Chernyev's detachment took over the Aulie Ata fortress and annexed it to the Russian Empire, starting in 1864. Taraz was greatly improved by the Semirechensky railway that passed through the town in 1917. Before it was called Aulie-Ata and not much was happening here until then.
Nowadays it is a cozy city with almost 430 000 of population, the administrative center of Jambyl Region in Kazakhstan, located on the Talas River in the south of the country near the border with Kyrgyzstan.
i love being here a lot and I enjoy walking down the streets of this adorable city. As you can see by the map - it is a really 2000 years old settlement. In the very center of it there is an ancimt archaeological site is located and wide walking street leads to the main square where clock tower was established in 2019. Overall lenght of this street is 500 meters and it stretches from Akkoziyev street to Mart Mall. The clock tower is 40 meters high, clock face is 4 meters in diameter. The stele is made of Samarkand-style brick and majolica stone. The clock mechanism was made in St. Petersburg. It shows the time in the city of Nur-Sultan, accompanying every hour with a chiming clock. The base of the stele consists of four parts, fixed with high-rise pillars.
Every building here was renovated according to design code and builidngs on the right side are Tourism Center (pretty useless, they cannot give you any information on what to visit, nor the booklets about the city), Rukhaniyat Center and Historical Studies named after Sherkhan Murtaza and Zhambyl Regional Museum of History and Local Lore along with a small art gallery.
