Top 10 Best Lakes to Visit in California | USA - English

#CaliforniaLakes #BestLakesInCalifornia
California is geographically diverse, with the Sierra Nevada, the Central Valley and the Mojave Desert making up for its main terrain. It is home to some of the largest trees in the world, beautiful wildlife and a long stretch of coastline, as well as being home to over 30,000 lakes and reservoirs.

Some of California’s lakes drain into the ocean, while others are completely landlocked. Some are small, while others span for over 370 square miles. Some are deep and some are shallow, and can be located at sea level or up in the mountains. Regardless, one thing that many lakes in California have in common is that they are stunning. Here is a list of the 10 best lakes in California.

Wiki Peaks is on a mission to promote the tourism in the World. We are here to show you the beautiful places in the world. You can see the beauty of this world from the comfort of your home.

Exploring California's Highway 39 - Closed For Over 40 Years

California State Route 39 as it heads into the mountains north of Azusa has been called California's Forbidden Highway or California's Forgotten Highway, as the last four and a half miles of it have been closed since 1978, preventing it from connecting with State Route 2. Because of the closure and dead end, the road sees very little traffic, despite being only miles from the second largest city in the United States.

In this video, we drive up the road through the Angeles National Forest (the same road part of Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift was filmed on) and check out what there is to see along the way. We then explore the section of road that has been closed for over 40 years, a road that was once considered one of the most scenic in California.

For another look at Highway 39, check out this video on the road by Roaming Benji:

Incredible $25 All You Can Eat DIM SUM Feast In San Gabriel LA!

Trying some Dim sum at an amazing $25 All You Can Eat Dim Sum Buffet here in San Gabriel Valley, an amazing community just east of Down town Los Angeles that has some of the best Chinese food in the world.

I have had dim sum items offered at some Las Vegas casino buffets but never have I experienced a full scale all you can eat Dim Sum buffet that offers unlimited authentic Dim Sum dishes like this one. It was my first time at a full dim sum buffet and I was amazed at how many dishes we tried and the quality of each dim sum dish especially at this price point.

San Gabriel Valley and LA truly has some of the best Chinese food in the world, have you dined at an all you can eat Dim Sum buffet before?

San Gabriel River East Fork with Kids - Swimming Pools in Angeles National Forest

OVERVIEW:

The San Gabriel River runs though the Angeles National Forest, from Mt Baldy down though the San Gabriel Valley and into the ocean. In the mountains, there are a lot of spots to go into the river and play.

We went to the East Fork of the San Gabriel River, and played in a stream that branches off from it. All along the stream are shallow pools created by stacked rocks to make dams. They are shallow enough for toddlers to walk in. The water is cool and crystal clear. The stream is usually pretty crowded with people, but if you walk up the trail following the stream, you’ll find some places that are more secluded.

There’s also a lot of trash around the river and stream which is a shame. Please be sure to pick up your trash and take it back with you. If you can, bring an extra bag to help pick up the trash already there and bring it back down. Every little bit helps.

LOCATION:

There are many places along the river to visit, but here are directions to the spot we went to in the video.

- From the 210 freeway, head north on Hwy 39 into the Angeles National Forest for about 9 miles.
- Turn right on East Fork Rd and cross over the bridge
- Continue for 5 miles
- The road will make a sharp curve, make a sharp turn left onto Camp Bonita Rd
- Continue about 0.2 miles to a single-lane bridge
- Park on the side of the road before the bridge
- Walk up to the bridge, and turn right
- Go past the gate and follow the dirt trail along the stream

PARKING:

Limited parking on the side of the road. You will need an Adventure Pass or an National Park Interagency Pass to park in the Angeles National Forest. See where to get one here:
