10. Cameron Lake & Cathedral Grove
These are located near each other in central Vancouver Island, sitting between Parksville and Port Alberni. Cameron lake is a tranquil spot on the island with many other natural attractions in the area. Witness the old-growth giant trees at Cathedral Grove and more.
9. Goldstream Provincial Park
Located right outside of Victoria, Goldstream Provincial Park is a great spot for hiking, camping and connecting with nature. Explore the beautiful “Niagara” waterfall or do a challenging hike to the neighboring peak of Mount Finlayson.

8. Victoria
Sitting on the southern end, Victoria is the most popular and accessible destination on Vancouver Island. Within a 20-minute driving radius of the city, there are tons of things to do in Victoria. You can choose to explore the British colonial Downtown on foot, take a tour to the magnificent Butchart Gardens, see the stunning Hatley Castle, or explore the wildlife on a whale watching tour.

7. Port Renfrew
The fishing village of Port Renfrew is another place you cannot miss on Vancouver Island! Also called Wild Renfrew, this area is known for its ancient rainforest, world-class hiking trails, and its stunning beaches.
6. Cowichan Valley
Cowichan Valley is another unique place to visit on Vancouver Island. Activities to enjoy here include hiking or biking Mount Tzouhalem, sipping wine at one of the idyllic vineyards, exploring the largest totem pole collection in Duncan, and seeing the sea lions in Cowichan Bay.
5. Lake Cowichan
Lake Cowichan is another amazing travel destination worth mentioning on its own. This freshwater lake is about 30 km or 18.6mi long and sits to the west of Duncan, in the Cowichan Valley.
4. Shawnigan Lake
Located about 40km north of Victoria at the southern edge of the Cowichan Valley, Shawnigan Lake is a popular place to vacation. The lake is 7km long and great for fishing, swimming, and sunbathing in the summer. But what we like the most in this area is hiking.

3. Sombrio & Mystic Beach
Mystic Beach has a beautiful waterfall that Cascades into the ocean, whereas Sombrio Beach has the best vibe for beach camping. Sombrio is a popular weekend getaway with friends or family during the summer and also offers some hidden waterfalls of its own.
2. Tofino & Ucluelet
Tofino and Ucluelet are both great destinations to get away and relax in nature on Vancouver Island! There is amazing hiking and surfing, and you will find the sandiest beaches on the island here! Our top pick of beaches include Cox Bay, Mackenzie Beach, Chesterman Beach, Long Beach, and Wickaninnish.

Top 10 Tips for Americans Visiting Cuba in 2024
Hey everyone! If you're an American planning to visit Cuba in 2024, here are the top 10 travel tips (plus 3 bonus tips) you should know before you go.

As requested: re-release of the previous episode with cleaned-up audio! I've recently visited Cuba as a US citizen, so I'm sharing my top 10 tips and three bonus tips to help make your trip smoother.

**General:**
1. **Tourist Visa:** You'll need a tourist visa, known as the Tourist Card. You can buy it from your airline or at the airport. Cuban customs will collect it upon departure.

2. **D'Viajeros Registration:** Complete the D'Viajeros form online at least 48 hours before your flight. You'll get a PDF confirmation with a QR code. It's a good idea to print this out and carry it with you.

**Communications:**
3. **Cell Phone:** Consider getting a Cubacel SIM card online before you travel. It takes about 5 minutes to install at the Havana airport, and you can recharge it online. The cost is around $35.

4. **WiFi:** Internet access is slow in Cuba. You'll find WiFi mainly in hotels and public parks. Be prepared for limited connectivity.
**Money:**
5. **Currency Exchange:** Be aware of both official and black market rates. Most places accept USD, but check the exchange rate before you buy anything. Also, bring plenty of $1 bills for tips, as coins are not accepted.
6. **Taxis and Transportation:** Negotiate fares in advance and clarify if the price includes everyone in your party. Find a reliable taxi driver and stick with them if possible.

10. **Scams and Beggars:** Be cautious of scams, especially when it comes to cigars, tours, and restaurant recommendations. Street beggars are common, particularly around sidewalk cafes.

We Found the Best Barbecue in Texas! Ups and Downs With Full Time RVing.
In this episode, we visit Lake Tawakoni, Texas. On the way there we stay at Mahaffey Farms, a terrific Harvest Host stopover and taste their pickled delights. We have a car problem, but it gets fixed. And yes, we do find the best barbecue in Texas, although you might dispute that. We know BBQ is a touchy subject for many, but Duncan BBQ gets our vote!

Kiddieland Park, Duncan Oklahoma
We visit the Kiddieland Park, operated by the Kiwanis, in Duncan, Oklahoma. They have 4 little rides and a concession stand. It’s real affordable for the family and fun as well. They have a miniature railroad, a tilt a whirl, a carousel, an airplane ride, and a snow cone stand.
