The first documented reference to the town is from 1207, referring to the older name Hrabišín. The name of Duchcov is first mentioned in 1240. A brewery was established in 1675.
Until 1918, Dux (bilingual names Dux – Duchov at the end of the 19th century) was part of the Austrian monarchy (Austria side after the compromise of 1867), head of the district with the same name, one of the 94 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in Bohemia.
A post-office was opened in July 1857.
In 1918, Duchcov became a part of independent Czechoslovakia. In 1938, as a result of the Munich Agreement, the town was ceded to Nazi Germany as one of the municipalities in Sudetenland. It was placed until 1945 under the administration of the Regierungsbezirk Aussig of Reichsgau Sudetenland. In May 1945, after the liberation of Czechoslovakia, Duchcov returned under Czechoslovak administration. The Sudeten German population was expelled in 1945 (further to the Beneš decrees) and replaced by Czech settlers.

Teplice (German Teplitz) is a spa town 15 km west of Ústí nad Labem. Prehistoric hunters lived here 10 - 40 thousand years ago. On the site of an older Slavic village, a fortified Gothic town was established in the 13th century, which was crossed by an important trade route to Saxony. After a devastating fire in 1793, the spa was restored in the Classicist style. In Teplice in 1813, the Monarchs of Austria, Prussia and Russia signed an agreement against Napoleon. Until the Second World War, the city was nicknamed Little Paris for its high cultural level and classicist architecture. The healing properties of the Teplice springs were already known in the High Middle Ages. Cardiovascular diseases are primarily treated in Teplice. Well-known spa houses are - Císařské lázně, Lázeňský dům Beethoven or Kamenné lázně.

Teplice (alemán Teplitz) es una ciudad balneario de 15 km al oeste de Ústí nad Labem. Los cazadores prehistóricos vivían aquí hace 10 - 40 mil años. En el sitio de un pueblo eslavo más antiguo, se estableció una ciudad gótica fortificada en el siglo XIII, que fue cruzado por una importante ruta comercial a Sajonia. Después de un fuego devastador en 1793, la ciudad fue restaurado en el estilo clasicista. En Teplice en 1813, los monarcas de Austria, Prusia y Rusia firmaron un acuerdo contra Napoleón. Teplice (německy Teplitz) jsou lázeňským městem 15 km západně od Ústí nad Labem. Na území města sídlili pravěcí lovci před 10 – 40 tisíci roky. Na místě starší slovanské vesnice vzniklo ve 13.století opevněné gotické město, kterým procházela významná obchodní cesta do Saska. Po zhoubném požáru v roce 1793 byly lázně obnoveny v klasicistním slohu. V Teplicích v roce 1813 panovníci Rakouska, Pruska a Ruska podepsali dohodu proti Napoleonovi. Do druhé světové války se městu pro jeho vysokou kulturní úroveň i klasicistickou architekturu přezdívalo Malá Paříž. Léčivé vlastnosti teplických pramenů byly známé už ve vrcholném středověku. V Teplicích se léčí v prvé řadě kardiovaskulární choroby. Známé lázeňské domy jsou - Císařské lázně, Lázeňský dům Beethoven nebo Kamenné lázně.
