This Vlog is based on my visit to Dholavira Kutch(धोलावीरा) which is a 5000 year old site of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization (Harrappan Civilization) in the Great Rann of Kutch. In this Video, I will be telling you about Dholavira History in Hindi(धोलावीरा का रहस्य). A lot of people also want to know about Dholavira History in Gujarati language, Telugu, Kannada, English but unfortunately I know only Hindi and English languages. Anyways, Let me tell you that Dholavira Sabhyata(धोलावीरा सभ्यता) dates back from 3000 BCE and Dholavira Site(धोलावीरा गुजरात) is known to be 5th Largest Harappan Site in India. A lot of people often ask in Hindi that Dholavira ki khoj kisne kiya(धोलावीरा की खोज किसने की) and the answer is that it was discovered in 1968 by archaeologist Jagat Pati Joshi. Also, a few people ask Dholavira kis rajya me hai(धोलावीरा किस राज्य में स्थित है या धोलावीरा कहां पर स्थित है) and my answer to them is that it is located in Gujarat state. Dholavira (ધોળાવીરા in Gujarati) is known to be a popular archaeological site at Khadirbet in Bhachau Taluka of Kutch District, in the western state of Gujarat, India. The name Dholavira has been taken from a modern-day village which is located 1 kilometre south of it. Earthquakes have again and again affected Dholavira, which included a severe earthquake around 2600 BC.
Dholavira is located on the Tropic of Cancer. It is known to be one of the 5 largest Harappan sites and undoubtedly the most prominent archaeological sites in India that belong to the Indus Valley Civilization. It is also popularly known as one of the grandest cities of its time. It is situated on Khadir bet island in the Kutch Desert Wildlife Sanctuary in the Great Rann of Kutch. The 120 acres quadrangular city is situated between two seasonal rivers, which were Mansar in the north and Manhar in the south. The site is thought to be occupied from c.2650 BCE, which later declined slowly after about 2100 BCE, and it was briefly abandoned then reoccupied until c.1450 BCE. Recent research tell that the beginning of occupation around 3500 BCE (pre-Harappan) and which continued until around 1800 BCE (early part of Late Harappan period).
The site was known to be discovered by a resident of Dholavira village, Shambhudan Gadhvi, in early 1960s who told government about the location. The site was known to be officially discovered in the year 1967-68 by J. P. Joshi, of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), and is popular as the fifth largest of eight major Harappan sites. Dholavira has been continuously been under excavation since 1990 by the ASI, which concluded that Dholavira has definitely added new dimensions to personality of Indus Valley Civilisation. The other main Harappan sites discovered so far are Harappa, Mohenjo-daro, Ganeriwala, Rakhigarhi, Kalibangan, Rupnagar and Lothal.
It was named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name Dholavira: a Harappan City on 27 July 2021.
Excavations : Excavation was started in 1989 by the ASI under the direction of Bisht, and there were a total of 13 field excavations between the year 1990 and 2005. The excavation actually brought to light the urban planning and architecture, and unearthed a huge numbers of antiquities such as, animal bones, gold, silver, terracotta ornaments, pottery as well as bronze vessels. Archaeologists tell that Dholavira was a very important centre of trade between settlements in south Gujarat, Sindh and Punjab and Western Asia.
Estimated to be even older than the port-city of Lothal, the city of Dholavira has a rectangular shape and organization, and is spread over a total area of 54 acres. The area of Dholavira measures 771.1 m (2,530 ft) in length, and 616.85 m (2,023.8 ft) in width. Unlike Harappa and Mohenjo-daro, the city was made to a pre-existing geometrical plan that consisted of three divisions – the citadel, the middle town, and the lower town.

Rat-children, chuas or mice are children or adults suffering from microcephaly, exploited as beggars situated in Gujrat City, particularly the Shrine of Saint Shah Dolah,[1] and elsewhere in Pakistan. They have sloping foreheads, narrow faces which resemble rodents and are often intellectually disabled and dependent on others.[2]
It is alleged that begging rings and gangs place iron bands around the heads of healthy children to induce cranial deformation.[2] The Shrine of Shah Dolah, home to many of the rat children, is a common pilgrimage site for women and married couples who wish to bear children. It is thought that ignoring a rat child's plea for money will bring bad luck.

The Dhola Sadiya bridge over river Brahmaputra is the longest bridge in India. It is 9.15 kms long and connects Assam with Eastern Arunachal Pradesh. It was inaugurated by the prime minister of India Shri Narendra Modi on 26th May, 2017. It reduced the travelling time by 4-5 hrs. It has become a tourist attraction in Assam.

This RoadTrip takes us to Dong Valley, to watch the First Sunrise of India and further explore the Easternmost Village, also called the First Village of India, Kaho. We Drive and Ride on the Easternmost Road of India towards Kibithoo H.Q. to complete our exploration of the True East of India.
The Journey further continued towards the Extreme Remote North East of India, the Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary and the last North Eastern settlement, Anini.
With a Hatchback & 2 Motorcycles, we camped amidst the wild winds that almost tore our tents at Parshuram Kund, by the banks of Lohit River, trekked at 3:00 am in the morning to watch the first Sunrise of India, relaxed at the Hot Springs amidst the Eastern Himalayas, drove on the cliffhangers of North East, even at night, got our petrol tank busted in the middle of a jungle with no mobile network for miles, cooked at the most unusual places, bathed where nature offered us and slept under the stars, to end days.

The Bhupen Hazarika Setu, also known as the Dhola Sadiya Bridge.
It connects Assam and Arunachal Pradesh of northeast India.
The bridge spread over the Lohit River.
Lohit River is an important tributary of the Brahmaputra River.
Lohit River has one end of Dhola in the south and
another end in Sadiya to the north.
Dhola Sadiya Bridge is the first permanent road attachment bridge between northern Assam and eastern Arunachal Pradesh.
This bridge is 9.15 kilometres in length, which makes it the longest bridge in India over water.
This has been created to hold the weight of 60 tonne (1,30,000 pound) tanks.
It is 3.55 kilometres longer than the Bandra Worli Sea Link in Mumbai.
The bridge was started off by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitin Gadkari on 26 May 2017.
The bridge is named after Bhupen Hazarika, a singer and filmmaker from Assam.
This is a three lane bridge.
The bridge has also reduced the distance by 165 KM.
This helps cut down on travel time from six hours to just one hour.
This minimized distance has resulted in saving of petrol and diesel of value Rs 10 lakh per day.
This bridge can hold out against earthquakes as the North East is prone to high earthquake activity/
The bridge is situated at 540 km distance from Assam’s capital Dispur and 300 km distance from Itanagar capital Arunachal Pradesh.
Dhola Sadiya Bridge is 3.55 km longer than the Bandra-Worli sea link in Mumbai.
The Bandra-Worli sea link has now become the second longest river bridge in India.
The construction of the bridge started in 2011 by the Ministry of Road Transport together with Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd.
This bridge began construction under the public-private-partnership agreement.
Construction cost of the bridge is Rs 2,056 crore.
This bridge will have several hydro power projects coming up in the State.
It also helped in increasing the tourism sector in both Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Road transport has become smoother.
The bridge has improved industrial and business investments between the Northeast and South Asian countries.
State-run SAIL is the main provider of steel for the bridge.
