Friends, Datia city located in the northern region of Madhya Pradesh state is such an ancient city which is mentioned in Mahabharata, which comes under Gwalior division. The city was known as Dilip Nagar during the Mahabharata period, and was founded by Maharaj Bir Singh Deo in 1626. The city of Datia is known for its traditional style temples, havelis and palaces, as well as the one built by Emperor Ashoka, the Gujara inscription was received from this city, and the first municipality of Madhya Pradesh is also in this district, Sun. It was formed in 1907. Friends, let us tell you that the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign in the state of Madhya Pradesh was also started from this Datia district on 15 October 2015.

This video is about Day 9 of our Madhya Pradesh Tour, We started our journey of MP from Gwalior, there after we went to Jhansi and Orchha. After exploring Orchha we visited Panna and then Khajuraho.

In this episode you will see our journey form Kutni ( near Khajuraho to Datia. Following are the activities we did during this day journey.
This Video was shot on 4th Nov 2022,
Bhimkund - This is a geographical miracle located at 105 km distance from Khajuraho. Till this day no one has been able to judge the depth of Bhimkund, this is a mystery which is unsolved even now.
Bhimkund - It is a natural water source, which is considered to be holy. It has connections with Mahabharat times. It is also known as neelkund, located 80 km from Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh.
We were interested to visit Shri Jatashankar Dham which is around 30 km from bhimkund, but due to paucity of time, we could not visit.
We had breakfast at a local dhaba near bhimkund, Aloo Paratha - Rs 20.
Maharaja Chhatrasal Museum - which is around 85 km from Bhimkund located in Dhubela, Entry ticket - Rs 20 for Indian visitors. Museums houses Antiques, artifacts, Paintings and old sculptures
Shri Pitambara peeth Datia - 75 km from Gwalior, this temple is dedicated to Goddesses Dhumavati & Baglamukhi.

It consists of 77 white Jain temples dating from the 9th century. The temples line the hill top and surrounding slopes.

जिसका प्राचीन दांतवक्र था, जो कि प्राचीन समय में दैत्यों के शासन में था । दतिया और ओरछा के महल बुनदेल राजपूतों ने अपने शासनकाल के अंत में बुंदेलखंड क्षेत्र में 16 वीं और 17 वीं शताब्दी के आसपास बनवाए थे जो कि वास्तुकला की बुंदेलखंड शैली का सबसे अच्छा उदाहरण है।

Shri Peetambara Peetha is one of the most famous temples of Baglamukhi which was established by Shree Swami Ji in 1920s. He also established the temple of goddess Dhumavati within the ashram. Dhumavati and Bagalamukhi are the two of the ten Mahavidyas. In addition to those, there are temples of Parshuram, Hanuman, Kal Bhairav and other god and goddess spread across the large area of Ashram.
Currently the Peeth is maintained by a trust. There is a Sanskrit library which was established by the Pujyapaad, and is maintained by Ashram. One can get the books explaining the history of the Ashram and secret mantras of various kind of sadhanas and tantras. One of the unique feature of the Ashram is its endeavor to spread the light of Sanskrit language to young children, free of cost. Ashram conducts Sanskrit debates across the years.
Pujyapaad was called 'Swamiji'or 'Maharaaj' by the devotees. No one knows from where he came, or his name; nor did he disclose this to anyone. However, he was a Parivrajakachrya Dandi Swami, who stayed on in Datia for a longer period. He was and still is a spiritual icon for many who visit the Peeth or have been associated with him directly or indirectly. He did and led many anushthans and sadhanas for the protection and welfare of both humanity and the country. Pt Shri Gaya Prasad Nayak ji (Babuji) of Garhi Malehara is renowned for his knowledge of Swamiji. Pujya Swamiji Maharaj and Babuji's Guruji were Gurubhai.
Pujyapaad was a strong devotee of the Goddess Pitambara. He like the Sanskrit language, and had good knowledge of Urdu, Persian and Arabic, English, Pali and Prakrit. He liked the classical music and various great classical musicians used to visit the ashram, including Pundit Gundai Maharaj, Siyaram Tiwari, Rajan and Sajan Mishra, and Dagar Bandhu. Classical musician Acharaya Brhaspati was follower of Pujyapaad.

The fort of Maharani Jhansi has strategic importance since the earliest of times. It was built by Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo (1606-27) of Orchha on a rocky hill called Bangra in the town of Balwantnagar (presently known as Jhansi).
The fort has ten gates ( Darwaza). Some of these are Khandero Gate, Datia Darwaza, Unnao gate, Jharna Gate, Laxmi Gate, Sagar Gate, Orcha Gate, Sainyar Gate, Chand Gate.
Among places of interest within the main fort area are the Karak Bijli Toup (Tank), Rani Jhansi Garden, Shiv temple and a “Mazar” of Ghulam Gaus Khan, Moti Bai and Khuda Baksh.
The Jhansi fort, a living testimony of ancient glamor and valour, also has a fine collection of sculptures which provide an excellent inside into the eventful history of Bundelkhand.

The Ram Raja Temple is a temple in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is a sacred Hindu pilgrimage and receives devotees in large numbers regularly and is also commonly known as Orchha Temple. The annual domestic tourist number is around 650,000 and the foreign tourist number is around 25,000. The daily number of visitors to the temple range from 1500 to 3000 and on certain important Hindu festivals like the Makar Sankranti, Vasant Panchami, Shivratri, Ram Navami, Kartik Purnima and Vivaha Panchami the number of devotees who throng to Orchha range in thousands. In India this is the only temple where Lord Rama is worshiped as a king and that too in a palace. A Guard of Honour is held every day, police personnel have been designated as Guards at the temple, much in the manner of a king.The food and other amenities provided to the deity at the temple are a royal repast. Armed salutation is provided to Lord Ram every day.

Datia Palace, also known as Bir Singh Palace or Bir Singh Dev Palace,is situated nearly 75 km from Gwalior city in Madhya pradesh. The specialty of the palace is that it has 7 floors and no member of the royal family lived in the palace. The founder of the Datia State in Bundelkhand - Maharaj Birsingh Deo Build many such 52 monuments all around the country. Datia Palace is also known as Satkhanda Palace, Datia Mahal,and Purana Mahal or the Old Palace. Historian Abdul Hamid Lahori came to this city with Shah Jahan on 19 November 1635. He said that the palace was nearly 80 meters long and was also this much broad. He said this as a very beautiful and strong palace.
This Palace was made by spending 35 Lakh Rupees (78 thousand US dollars), and it took nine years to build it. It is situated on an isolated rock on the western side of the city Datia. It represents Mughal architecture along with Rajput architecture. It is the biggest and most famous of all the 52 palaces build by Raja Bir Singh Deo, and it can be seen easily from a long distance.
