In today’s video I’m taking a look at the most beautiful towns in Colorado and the prettiest places to visit. The vast Rocky Mountains draw in visitors looking for a laidback vacation with amazing culture and attractions.
Enjoy a jam-packed day in one of the national parks or ski at one of the largest resorts in the country. Whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed as each of these towns offers stunning views and one-of-a-kind scenery.
Some of the towns on this list are lesser known and include some hidden gems. As a local, I go off the tourist path to find some unique and scenic towns to visit and with little tourist crowds.
From skiing and snowboarding in the winter to hiking, and camping in the summer, outdoor activities are a way of life in Colorado. The Centennial State is an ideal travel destination and one of the best places to visit for outdoor pursuits in every season.

Craig Rowe goes house-hunting in the southern French city of Carcassonne with Sue and Tony, in search of their perfect holiday bolthole for their budget of £100,000. This isn't the couple's first viewing trip to the area, and there's already a property on their radar, but can any of the five that Craig shows them beat it?
A Place in the Sun is a British FreeForm/Channel 4 lifestyle programme about buying property abroad. It most often focuses on places in southern Europe, but in recent years has also featured a number of places in other areas of the world. It is usually presented by the former estate agent and model Amanda Lamb; other presenters have included Victoria Hollingsworth, Simone Bienne, Zilpah Hartley, Jasmine Harman and Jonnie Irwin.
Generally, each episode of the programme shows a couple looking at four selected properties in a particular area within a budget. Then the house hunters are given some time to discuss between themselves to decide on what house they are going to buy. They then go back to the presenter to tell them which house they want to buy. It normally ends with the presenter phoning the houses estate agent and placing the bid the house hunters want to place on that particular house. It was a response to the growth in Britons buying property abroad. It the last few years it has shown destinations as diverse as Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Canada, Australia, South Africa, the Caribbean and even Cape Verde.
Highest Point In The Smokies | Clingman’s Dome Observation Tower
At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is the highest point in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is the highest point in Tennessee, and the third highest mountain east of the Mississippi. Only Mt. Mitchell (6,684 feet) and Mt. Craig (6,647), both located in Mt. Mitchell State Park in western North Carolina, rise higher. The observation tower on the summit of Clingmans Dome offers spectacular 360° views of the Smokies and beyond for visitors willing to climb the steep half-mile walk to the tower at the top.

On clear days views expand over a 100 miles. Unfortunately, air pollution often limits viewing distances to under 20 miles.
Clouds, precipitation, and cold temperatures are common at Clingmans Dome. Temperatures at the dome can be 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than in the surrounding lowlands. In fact, the cool, wet conditions on Clingmans Dome's summit make the spruce-fir forest that grows there a coniferous rainforest. Proper preparation is essential for a good visit. Dress in layers and be sure to bring a jacket, even in summer.
The road leading to the tower is closed seasonally, typically from early December through late March, and whenever dangerous weather conditions require.
It's seven miles to the end of Clingmans Dome Road and scenic pullouts offer endless views of ridges and valleys along the way. The road ends in a large parking area from which a 0.5-mile trail leads to the summit. The trail is paved but steep, and leads to an observation tower on top.
Pets and bicycles are not permitted on the paved trail to the observation tower, or on any other trails in the area. A bike rack is located near the beginning of the paved trail to park bikes while walking to the top. You will need to bring a lock with you to secure your bike.
Although the trail is paved, it is too steep to be wheelchair accessible.
Besides the trail to the summit, there are several trails that start from the Clingmans Dome Road and parking area. The Appalachian Trail (AT) crosses Clingmans Dome, marking the highest point along its journey from Georgia to Maine. The Forney Ridge Trail leads to Andrews Bald, a high-elevation grassy bald.
Directions: Turn off Newfound Gap Road 0.1 mile south of Newfound Gap and follow the 7-mile-long Clingmans Dome Road to the large parking area at the end.

DNR to make Craig Lake State Park backcountry campsites reservation-only
All 22 designated backcountry campsites within Craig Lake State Park will transition to reservation-only sites beginning with the 2023 camping season to help combat park natural resource degradation and make it easier to locate campers in emergency situations.
The 2023 backcountry camping season will run from May 20 through Nov. 1, 2023. Reservations are available six months in advance, which means camping reservations will become available beginning Nov. 20, 2022. Reservations can be made at midnrreservations.com or by calling 1-800-44PARKS.
