Hi guys, today you will explore one of the most popular and gorgeous beaches in Portugal called Costa da Caparica situated in Almada. The turquoise water and big waves of the Atlantic Ocean along with the scenic beauty makes it totally mesmerising.
If you are planning to visit Lisbon anytime sooner or later then you should not miss on this. Its quiet close to Lisbon and easily be connected by cars, cabs and buses.
Best time to visit would obviously be Summer as you will have whole lot of water activities going on, some sun to soak along with a beautiful crowd.
It's a Surfers Paradise. So you will have various Surf schools at your disposal.

We visited the famous beach in Costa da Caparica, Portugal, very close to Lisbon by public transportation. This beach city is absolutely stunning, with 30 km extension. Costa da Caparica is located in the another side of the bridge of Lisbon, with 3 ways to arrive.
1th option: Boat from Cais do Sodré to Cacilhas, a city on the other side. There, take the bus 135 to Costa da Caparica. About 20 minutes. Tip: When in Cacilhas, walk direct to the main street with restaurants and then go up to have this view of Lisbon from the video. Boat timetable:
1st Bus timetable, cost 3,80 per person one way
2nd option and the quickest: Boat from the Belém area (Porto Brandão), which is close to the train or bus stop to Trafaria, the city on the other side. There, take the bus 129. In just 3 stops you will be on the beach. Boat timetable:

3rd option, it may take longer: Bus 161 leaving from Areeeiro area in Lisbon, passing through Campolide and Alcantara towards Costa da Caparica.

On the other side of the Tejo across the 25 de Abril bridge, Costa da Caparica starts just 11 km from Lisbon and stretches in all its sandy glory for 30 km. When the wind is right, it’s the perfect beach for catching wind if you want space and distance, but there are plenty of surf schools, cafes and beach bums if you’re feeling social. It’s even more popular with surfers, but if you crave space, just keep heading south, away from the developed areas, and you’ll find it. SUP is big here too.

Costa de Caparica is a Lisbon's summer mecca
You won't find much seclusion on this coast, but if you want easy access to restaurants, cafes, and public transportation, join the crowds at the vast beaches of Caparica. They are popular and lively in the summer, even at night when most bars stay open until late with music and dancing.
Buses depart from Lisbon's Praça de Espanha bus terminal to Caparica town, a 5-minute walk from the beach.
In season, a little open-air train passes through most beaches along this coast -- ring the bell to stop at the beach of your choice (stops are numbered).
Increasingly popular is Praia da Cabana do Pescador due to its beach bar that offers live music, sofas, massages, and refreshing drinks. Costa da Caparica Although popular, it never becomes too crowded, as there is plenty of sand and the calmer waves here attract many to the water.
