One day in Cognac and Angouleme in France

Next stops on our summer trip in France were Cognac and Angouleme. Travelling during the pandemic was a bit of a challenge at times, and sometimes we had to make changes to our original schedule, including, for example, missing the birthplace of Francois 1 in Cognac, or the comics museum in Angouleme.

But we still tried to make the most of the time and absolutely loved both cities. They are very different - but both are worth stopping by when you are in the area!

Visit the company saw one place to create a cognac. Different types of cognac are on display. And even the color and shape of the bottle, but the price difference is the maturation period is determined based on the absolute price. Every two years in this grade is more expensive up exponentially. Cognac is getting darker with the cognac while many are facing aging process. For example, the first fruits fresh fruit, fruit is dark then was the world 's later candied fruit flavors. Walnut, hazelnut flavor of nuts such as I also happen. The sukseongsil. There are generally 10 years, but nothing was 4-50 years in four years. Varying the color of cognac aging period. As is clear brandy aged in oak barrels goes turned to caramel color. While cognac is in the cask from 2.5 to 3% per year it will evaporate. So, 10 mountain high grade become a fairly large amount of discarded evaporated. As a result, to create a cognac bottle sorta you need a 9 bottle of wine. After 15 years it reduced by half. Taste and smell are still much to be compressed, where the wine is also distilled atda go. Distillation plant has gathered in various companies. Boil the wine with brandy to make here. The amount reduced to 1/6 while the distillation twice. It's the distilled spirits first. I'm gonna distilled white wine still yellow. Distillation process than I thought was important. The quality of Cognac's not even an exaggeration devoted decided here. The sampling and distillation step by step. Haebomyeon brandy tasting the sample, we can see immediately whether through development of some cognac.

EXPLORING COGNAC GAUTIER in AIGRE, Charente; the story of a small town with large ambitions!

↪This is the first video on the channel. As a low-budget project, there is a learning curve involved in production. 🧩Therefore, my camera work is not yet perfected:

To explore local culture and history, we're making a stop today in Aigre, nestled in the northwest corner of the Charente department.

Together we'll explore some elements of history, talk to mayor Renaud Combaud and get an overview of the town.

If you're interested in visiting Aigre, it's best accessible by car or bicycle following the departmental roads from Ruffec (north), Mansle (east), Chef-Boutonne (west) or Montignac-Charente (south).

The nearest intercity station is in Angoulême, with many trains daily to Bordeaux and Paris on the LGV Atlantic.

For accommodations, camping and hotels are available nearby. I'd recommend Camping Les Platanes in Montignac-Charente for cyclists, as it is in proximity (15 km), reasonably priced, on the route to Angoulême and a nice spot to relax by the river.

The largest regional airport is Bordeaux, about 2 hours by car from Aigre.

The annual Aigre Exposition Faire is May 25-26, 2024: Foire Exposition du Pays d'Aigre. Every year a different local cultural theme is chosen.
